*   Ballymartin GAC are proud to support the work of St Columban's Kilkeel and cover Club Coaches who attend the quality line-up at the Coaching Clinic!  All GAA coaches and managers are always looking that extra edge.  Well, this Saturday November the 15th, Steven Poacher, Head of PE in St Columban's Kilkeel will give you that opportunity with the Annual and well renowned "St Columban's GAA Coaching Clinic."  The focus of the clinic will look at two themes, (both outdoor practical sessions,) one delivered by Queens GAA Games and Development manager Aidan O'Rourke and based on the theme "Building elements of a game-plan into training sessions" and a second session, delivered by current Down & Kilcoo player and Trinity College GAA Development officer Conor Laverty based around "Developing Attacking Play in your team."
This is surely one of the strongest line-ups at any coaching course held in the province and one of the finest St Columban's have had with two of the most innovative and tactically astute coaches in the modern game with a wealth of both playing and coaching experience.  Coaches will get an opportunity to witness a top class practical session lasting approximately 90minutes and geared towards implementing a game-plan into their training sessions, something very important in the modern game, delivered by Aidan O'Rourke and a panel of players. After a short break for tea/coffee and refreshments, coaches will then be treated to another practical session where one of the most intelligent Forwards currently in Ulster football and an astute coach at Sigerson cup level, Conor Laverty, will pass on his knowledge in a number of games/drills which will enhance attacking play in your team. Finally, coaches will then have an opportunity for a short question and answering session with the high level coaching guests.
The event is open to all coaches of any age level be it school, club or county or any code as the games and drills on show will be easily transferable to both Camogie and Hurling. The day commences at 10am on the Saturday morning 15th November and the cost of the day is £10 which can be made payable on the day and includes, tea/coffee and an information booklet with sample training sessions. It's certainly an information packed morning not to be missed and proceeds from the day will go towards the development of GAA within the school.
