Friday 29th 11am Men’s Shed; 7pm Santa arrives at Dunavil on his reindeer driven sleigh to turn on our Christmas lights. All welcome to come and take photos with Santa and Rudolph. Tea, Coffee, soup, treats and sweets, letter to Santa, Reindeer Food, Inflatables, all taking place.

The Down Primary Schools Indoor Hurling tournament took place at Dunavil on Thursday.

 

The Youth Club enjoyed a trip to Cocos on Friday, thanks to the leaders who gave their time.

 

The Club Mass for deceased / bereaved members and friends took place on Friday with £300 raised for Diabetes, thanks to Fr Murray who celebrated the mass and the volunteers who prepared the room and everyone who came out to remember.

 

The An Ríocht Planning Event took place on Saturday when over 30 Club Leaders evaluated progress on the Club Plan and debated short and long term targets for the new season, thanks to everyone for their giving their Saturday morning. There are still vacancies on our committees and application forms are available from the club office to be returned by 3rd December, you do not need to have played gaelic games or have previous involvement to fulfil some of these roles, so if you can, give a hand.

 

There is a vacancy at KYC for a Youth Support Worker (9 hours); application forms from the club office to be returned before 6th December with interviews on 12th December.

 

The Down Camogie Awards took place on Sunday with u12 Head Coach Tracy Rafferty recipient of the Camogie Volunteer Award and Cerys Clarke and Orlaith O’Rourke receiving their All Ireland Minor medals.

 

The Christmas Fair is on Sunday from 2pm to 5pm with Tombola, Santa, Teas & Coffees, Raffles, Home Baking, Toy, Chocolate and Grocery Hampers, numerous stalls including Scentsy, Mourne Grange Glass, Buns & Biccies, Flowers and Christmas Wreaths, Bronagh Trainor Make-up, DC Cakes, Elf Stall, KM Crafts, Bow Diva, Lisa Clerkin Handbags, Sophie Cheetham-Lowery Crafts, Candy Crafts. To book your stall contact the club.

 

There was a disappointingly small but enthusiastic attendance at the Camogie & Coffee event on Thursday and the discussion was constructive with lots of good ideas going forward. The following positions were filled Chair Paula Fearon, Vice Chair Carrie Killen, Secretary/PRO Clara Killen, Registrar Joanna Sloan, Coaching Officer Rosanne Small, Schools Officer Tracy Rafferty, Children’s Officer Joanne White (appointed position), Player Reps Colleen Fearon and Marie Trainor. Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Coach Assistants are reminded to get their application forms in for Sunday.

If anyone is interested in coaching any An Ríocht Football team for the 2020 season, application forms are available at the club or on-line. Please complete and return before Sunday 1st December. Any queries speak to Football Coaching Officer Thomas Sloan. Also Coaching Application forms for Camogie are available from the Club to be completed and returned on or before 1st December.
