Afternoon Tea in the Park - was a great success on Saturday, and all those who attended had a brilliant time. This was a lovely gesture for the elderly in our community. Craic, company, music and food was great. Thank you to everyone for coming and thanks to Tracey from Deli-licious for all her China cups, plates etc and to The Portaferry Hotel for a lend of their cake stands. And a big thank you to Trevor Coffey for music and entertainment. Well done and thank you to those who helped in any capacity, your time and effort is much appreciated.

 

Congrats and Well Done - to our Senior Camog and Soaring Star, Niamh Mallon, who won Ulster Player of 2018 for all her great exploits for club, county and province. Niamh is a great example for all our young players, if you put the hard work in, you will get the rewards. Well done to Niamh.

 

Scor na nOg - a big well done to all our participants for their great efforts and talents in the East Down final on Saturday. Our Ballad Group and Solo Singer, Niamh Savage, are through to the Down Scor Final onSunday in St Malachy’s Castlewellan, great stuff from the girls, you are doing brilliant. A massive thank you to Niall Savage and Rory McQuillan who were brilliant in a tough competition, they were great and will be back.

 

Club Mass - for deceased members of our club is on Thursday 22nd November at 7.30pm in our clubhouse. Everyone welcome.

 

A massive congratulations to our Senior Camogie squad and management who have been confirmed as Down League winners 2018. After the disappointment of losing the Championship final, this is a consolation, but it is also something to be celebrated. The hard work on the training pitch is reaping the rewards. 2019 will be an even better season, keep up the great work. Well done to all involved. Up the Ports.

 

Ports Do Strictly – this is a notice from the Fundraising Committee. If we don’t get male dancers soon, the show won’t happen. This is the last call for male dancers for Strictly 2019? All our men are very shy and it looks like the show won’t happen next year. If your interested let Anne Fitzsimmons know ASAP. Don’t nominate other people unless you have asked them. Spread the word. Thank you.

 

Juveniles 2019 – the AGM has taken place and a big thank you to all those who attended and have taken on roles for next season. There are some vacant positions. Anyone that is interested in filling any of the vacant positions, helping with any team or knows of anyone interested please contact Karol Keating ASAP. 

 

Defib training which is free for clubs. It is on 23rd Nov or 30th Nov in Aurora leisure centre, Bangor.

 

Juvenile Presentation – is on Saturday 1st December at 7.30pm. Guest star is Kilkenny goalkeeper Eoin Murphy. It will be a great night for our young players. Thanks to Juvenile Chairperson Karol Keating for sorting the guest.

 

Club AGM – is on Sunday 2nd December at 2pm. If you think you can help our Club in any position, please attend this meeting. Nomination papers are available from the clubhouse or upon request from club secretary via email - [email protected]

 

Christmas Turkey Whist Drive – on Friday 7th December at 8pm in the Park. Admission is £5.00. Light Supper will be provided. Everyone welcome. Spread the word.
