Lacey set to equal record

July 21, 2017

Karl Lacey celebrates at the final whistle

An appearance from Karl Lacey in tomorrow's All-Ireland SFC qualifier against Galway will see the Donegal defender equal Christy Toye's championship outings record.

Toye appeared for the Tir Chonaill men on 65 occasions in championship football and should Lacey feature for them at Markievicz Park, the former All-Star will equal that.

Lacey has been used sparingly by Donegal manager Rory Gallagher this year, but the defender has been introduced in each of their games so far. Meanwhile, Paddy McGrath and Paddy McBrearty are looking to continue their appearance streaks also.

Since making his debut, McGrath has appeared in Donegal's last 42 championship games, while McBrearty has an uninterrupted 40 championship games under his belt.
