There will be a real GAA - and Donegal - flavour to tomorrow's FAI Cup final between Dundalk and Cork City.

The respective captains Stephen O'Donnell and Johnny Dunleavy are not only first cousins, but also share a love for Donegal GAA. Galway man O'Donnell has family connections with Dungloe, while Dunleavy is a son of former Donegal footballer Brendan Dunleavy from Ballybofey.

"I know Stephen from playing against him and we would talk about Donegal GAA and how they would be going in the championship," Dunleavy explained to the Donegal Democrat.

O'Donnell said: "I am a massive fan of Donegal GAA and my father PJ and my uncle Jimmy took me to all the big championship games in Ulster when I was young. I don't go up as often now as I did when I was young and my grandmother was alive, but I was at the Donegal-Derry championship game last year."
