Hype won't get to Keegan and Mayo

Did Lee Keegan mean his goal against Donegal yesterday evening?

"It's a hot topic all right and I'm not sure I can tell you here today - maybe some other time," the Mayo 'man-of-the-match' joked when speaking to RTE Sport.

The half-back finished with 1-2 to his name but he was particularly pleased with the Connacht champions' defensive performance at headquarters.

"Defence is something we pride ourselves on.

"In the Sligo game (Connacht final) we conceded a high score in 2-11. That hurt us a lot. We know Donegal are good to get goals so it was great to keep them out.

"I thought Ger Cafferkey had a great game on Michael Murphy."

Mayo will now renew acquaintances with Dublin and the Westport clubman concluded: "Dublin are the team to beat but we will focus on the job in hand.

"We're on the road long enough not to let any of the hype get to us."
