Clash of the Cathedral Town teams

The bragging rights over the clash of the cathedral town teams belongs to St. Eunans B team after their minor league victory over Letterkenny Gaels in The O'Donnell park last Sunday. After a good start which saw the Gaels take a two point lead from Sean McDonagh frees was cancelled out by a well worked goal scored by Ronan Crossan. The Gaels rallied with a crisp finish to the back of the net from Cormac Cannon and points were traded until the half time whistle blew leaving the Gaels leading by 2 points at the interval.

The second half belonged to a sharp St.. Eunans team who upped the pace and were lead from the back by impressive Brian McIntyre and whose attack was spearheaded by the clinical and industrious Jake Whelan.

The Gaels, who had a number of players involved with the st. Eunans college all ireland semi final and others with knocks ran out of steam as the second period elapsed. The final score saw st Eunans claim the two points as they ran out 1.18 to 3.09 victors.

The Gaels finish their league fixtures with a trip to naomh colmcille this weekend.
