Brian McCormick’s Sports and Leisure Division One and Division One Reserve

There was disappointment for the Seniors last Sunday as they lost out to Gaoth Dobhair in a league fixture that ended 1-13 to 1-9. They will have a quick chance to avenge that result however when they host the same opposition this Sunday at O’Donnell Park. That game gets underway at 3pm.

Last time out for the Reserves, they ran out 0-17 to 1-10 winners away to Gaoth Dobhair and, like the Seniors, they will look horns with them again this Sunday in a match that starts at 1:30pm.

Yes Chef Catering Region 2

Local bragging rights were earned by the Senior C lads as they defeated neighbours Glenswilly last Friday and ended up on the positive side of a 4-18 to 0-10 win.  This coming Saturday sees them welcome Urris to O’Donnell Park for another league fixture; this one commencing for Alan O’Connell’s men at 6:00pm.

Underage Girls

Training continues for Stevie Crossan’s under-12 side every Thursday at 5:45pm. They also received great news this week that they will be playing at half-time in the upcoming Ulster semi-final at Killyclogher when Donegal face Cavan. On the field, Team 2 recently enjoyed a great win over Aodh Ruadh and while Team 1 didn’t get the result they wanted against the same opposition, their manager was still very happy with their great attitude and performance. Stevie always wanted to extend his continued thanks to the parents who’ve been a great support to the team all year.

Underage Hurling

Commiserations to the under 14 hurlers who lost out to Aodh Ruadh in Thursday night’s Championship final. Despite that, Adie Gaffey’s young stars can be proud of the strides they have taken this year. Well done, lads.

One Good Club

As part of our One Good Club programme, our Yoga Event takes place this evening (Friday 14th) at the Club House at 6:30pm. It lasts one hour with refreshments and healthy food served afterwards. All LGFA from under16 to MothersAndOthers welcome.

Donegal Success

A great win for Donegal over Tyrone last weekend was brilliant to see and we congratulate our players and coaches who were involved in both the Men’s and Ladies fixtures. Extended congratulations to Shaun Patton who was awarded the BBC NI’s Man of the Match following a superb display between the sticks.

Sunday Morning Academy

The SMA continues as normal this weekend, but will not the following week on account of the Rally.

AOB

Extended thanks for everyone’s patience during that three-week spell when we were mysteriously locked out of the Club email account. Apologies to people who had emailed in and were not responded to during that time. Thankfully, the technical issue has been resolved and we are back in working order once again.

Have a great weekend,

Jonathan Foley
