Naomh Adhamhnáin club notes

November 27, 2018

Our Minor Boys footballers defeated Four Masters by 3-20 to 3-03 to claim the Co. League title to add to the Championship won in September, indeed many of the panel were celebrating a “double-double” as members of our minor hurling team that also claimed a League & Championship double! Well done to the players and management. The lads travel to Belfast this Sunday (Dec. 2nd) for a meeting with Tyrone champions Errigal Ciaran, throw-in is at 1pm.

The St. Eunan’s Schools League had it’s second week of games on the AstroTurf pitch on Sunday morning and there was a great turnout of girls from all local schools. It’s back to the boys this week before taking a break into the New Year. Thanks to all teachers and parents for their support.

Comhghairdeas le Katie Coyle who won the county final of Scór na nÓg in Amharclann Ghaoth Dobhair in the solo singing category. Well done also to the quiz team of Lorcan O’Donnell, Liam Hannigan, Donnacha Devenney and Ciarán Moore who won the county final of Tráth na gCeist. Our ballad group of Sadbh agus Cormac Breathnach, Róise agus Gráinne Ní Dhomhnaill agus Sinéad McIntyre also performed well as did our finalist in the recitation Síofra Harvey but unfortunately, they lost out on the day. We wish our club and indeed all our county champions all the best in the Ulster semi-final in Silverbridge at 4.00pm on Saturday 1st December. Go néirigh go geal leo. Arís mile buíochas to Sinéad Ní Dhomhnaill for her tremendous work in preparing the club for Scór na nÓg this year.

The Friday Evening Hurling & Camogie Academy is up and running again every Friday for the next few weeks before the Christmas break in O’Donnell Park from 6:30pm until 7:30pm. The U8’s, U10’s & U12’s will train on the AstroTurf Pitch & Hurling Wall so please wear moulded boots (no metal studs) or runners. New members, boys or girls of any age welcome.

The club has launched our Super House Draw for 2019 with tickets priced at €100 available from members and in various outlets around town and online via the special Facebook page (www.facebook.com/gaahousedraw/) and website (www.gaahousedraw.com). As always, we are relying on the support of our members to make this a success once again.
