I totally agree. PB is an exellent footballer no doubt. But the manager calls the shots, if your dropped u sit on the bench like every other player. If u get a chance to get on the field thats the time to try and prove to the manager that u should have been played. I really hope PB either comes back to the panel and comits himself fully to he rest of this campaign or leave quietly and let the rest of the player who are proud to wear the shirt get on with it!! doire abu (Derry) - Posts: 540 - 29/06/2010 16:48:44 691193 Link 0 0 |
Surely Damien Cassidy was just thinking of the bigger picture. It is a long and tough route through the qualifiers and he was thinking of the team. He was looking to give some boys a chance to prove themselves in championship football and rest some of the more senior players for later. tir_eoghain_abu (Tyrone) - Posts: 773 - 05/07/2010 16:34:50 697028 Link 0 0 |

No Paddy on the team announced or on the subs given on the Derry GAA site. Any more news, or is that it? Sad way for a great player to depart - he may not be the player he was a couple of years ago, but is still a fantastic finisher. I can't disagree with the manager being in charge and picking the team as he sees fit, but neither can I do anything but thank Paddy for a decade full of fantastic displays in a Derry jersey. Who can forget the keepy-ups against Tyrone at Celtic Park, finished off by putting Conor Gormley on his a**e as he came in to flatten him? 2005 and 2009 in Clones and many other days besides. Very special player - thanks for the memories. doiregael2 (Derry) - Posts: 321 - 09/07/2010 20:30:33 702097 Link 0 0 |

A super super player. While it is a real pity to see a top player not playing, I do hope he doesnt come back until next year, after yesterday's draw! JPM1981 (Kildare) - Posts: 825 - 12/07/2010 10:09:26 704555 Link 0 0 |
