There were victories for Derry, Tyrone and Cavan in the Ulster minor football championship this evening
<p>Derry, Tyrone and Cavan gained entry to the Ulster MFC winners enclosure this evening.</p>
<p>Derry overcame hosts Armagh by 3-14 to 1-5 at the Athletic Grounds.</p>
<p>First half-goals from Ethan Doherty and Shea Murray laid the foundations for the Oak Leafers’ impressive 15-point winning margin.</p>
<p>The visitors held a 2-6 to 1-4 advantage at the break and pulled away in the second-half with Eoghan Hawe netting their third goal via the penalty spot.</p>
<p>Mark Hayes and Daniel Fullerton were the goal scorers as Tyrone inflicted a 2-11 to 0-9 defeat on Derry in Pairc Esler.</p>
<p>Hayes’ eight minute effort helped to establish a 1-5 to 0-3 interval lead for the visitors and Fullerton made sure of the win when finding the back of the Mourne County’s net with one minute of normal time remaining.</p>
<p>Cavan, meanwhile, produced a strong finish to register a 2-9 to 1-7 victory over Fermanagh in Brewster Park.</p>
<p>Emmet Boylan and Fermanagh’s Conor Love (penalty) traded goals in the opening period and the scoreboard read 1-5 to 1-4 in favour of the visitors at the half-time whistle.</p>
<p>The sides were level on 1-7 apiece after 54 minutes of play before substitute Fionntán O'Reilly scored an all-important second goal for the Breffni County.</p>
