Slaughtneil defender Brendan Rogers says victory in tomorrow's Ulster club SFC final will go some way towards atoning for last March's crushing All-Ireland final loss to Dr Crokes.

The Derry champions face a Cavan Gaels side gunning for their first ever provincial and the Breffni County outfit are ranked at 4/1 to cause the upset over the holders.

Slaughtneil's full-back says the opposition won't be taken lightly success at Armagh's Athletic Grounds this weekend.

"You never forget the games you get beat in and you want to rectify them," Rogers is quoted saying by the Irish Daily Mail.

"In post mortems in your head you think about it, but there's only one way we can get redemption for that - and that is to go and win Ulster again.

"We see Cavan (Gaels) as good opposition and we need to beat them before we can get the shackles off and go again."
