Replying To bobkarlgees:  "Just thinking about the weather I would fear for us if it rain heavily. I think we got muscled out it by Down with the wet surface. That pitch surface in Newry was awful with patches with hardly any grass. Navan surface will not be as bad . All in all a dry would suit us better sad to say it used to be the other way around. Years ago."
We had perfect conditions for a game against Kildare and they smashed us.

I had a feeling Kildare would beat us. Down result was big surprise. I have a feeling we will beat Galway. Meath by +3

Galway have some very skillful footballers so dont think a wet day/surface will be of any benefit to them. Totally agree that we have to keep it very tight for first 15/20 minutes, as this is where damage has been done. Will be difficult to get anything out of next two gamess.

I'd think if we get the call play against wind first half, plenty of hand passing aka keep.ball ala Derry game, pop over few points , keep it very tight, 15 behind ball if needed, second half with wind let loose and see what happens, well that's how I'd play it anyway.

Emotional outbursts on the eve of a game seem to becoming the norm

Jackser, apparently you are not a true supporter if you are of the opinion that Meath may potentially lose a match.

Oh, and if they do lose - it's because you didnt support them ;-)

Happy with that team! Glad Tobin is back..
McMahon deserves his chance! Brian Sheridan hasn't been good enough so understand the decision to drop him ! Not overly impressed with half back line though !! I'm optimistic and hoping for a good performance!

From fans to players you always have to believe. Negativity offers nothing.

Tobin back is a definite positive and Andy may be keeping McGill in there on the basis that the unit of Keoghan, McGill & Tobin will there going forward and need to be given a chance as a trio.

Also Brian Sheridan did get a number of chances and Reilly will probably play deep. McMahon probably our best option in the other corners with Lenihan now an automatic start.

Where I would have ongoing concerns are midfield and half back lines. Midfield have been inconsistent and perhaps Andy feels Menton is due another good game at home.

Personally, I think Alan Douglas and Bobby O'Brien have not got much game time. Both strong players. Douglas had a quiet first half against Kildare but I had thought wasn't near our worst player. However he seems to have taken the brunt for that performance because he hasn't been seen since.

Anyway, lets hope home advantage does it for us this time. Great not to have to travel like the last two years. We need a win.

Why is he trying Reilly at FF in the middle of league ? If indeed he is going to play there, Surely he knows what Reilly can do from the 40 before the year started. Playing Reilly at FF is as exactly the type of innovation that I expected from the start of the year in OBC not in the middle league. Here is hoping what ever Andy is planing works out though.

Bob - 14 will simply be the number on Reilly's jersey, there is not a chance he plays full forward

I'm guessing Reilly will play between the 40 and FF, with Lenihan and McMahon making up a 2 man FF line, could be wrong of course but that's what I think might happen.

We're not exactly bursting at the seams with quality but I think if we can get something going then this should be a good game and I'm hopeful of a performance. Galway are a good side with promotion genuine ambitions so they'll be hard beat and if we get off to another bad start then I'm afraid it's curtains (we've shown nothing over the last few years to suggest that we can cope with intense pressure or chasing a game) so concentration from the start is crucial.

As for the team I'm reasonably happy (I don't think McEntee has many alternatives anyway)

Think its a good idea ! We have pace all round the field ! Apart from Harnan thats nearly a full strength side! Reilly will be freed up a bit so I think its the right call this time of year!
