Replying To numberedjerseys:  "My god after the disappointing collapse in stradbally it is of high importance that meath win and win well in front of perhaps 5/6k people on home grounds on Sunday. That will be the McEntee mentality With a challenge v Donegal on Saturday meath will field a strong meath as we can the other panelists will play v Donegal
Andy will want to keep the meath support on board with a home final on the cards and heading into two home league games in February"
Where do we play Donegal?

A new full forward ?? interesting. I am not sure if winning this would great thing, giving that first round of the league would be the following week."
We need a full forward who can win a ball,I can see why Kennelly is being tried there.

Would of liked to see McGill at 3 with Keoghan at 2, that'd make a strong full back line. But yeah I think Kenneally will work at 14, he's mobile and can win ball high and low and can kick scores. Andy seems to be sticking with Menton and O'Brien in midfield which I feel is our strongest partnership there as both are athletic and good footballers. Anyone know is Harnan around? came on against DIT but hasn't figured since, he'd be my choice for 6. Surprised to see Biggy play since with him being out the following week

Yeah hopefully Kennelly is the full forward we need, I also think Brian Sheridan could possibly be that man as well. Anyone know how long he's out for? I expect a big crowd and a win on Sunday.

Can Eamon Wallace and Lavin play if they already played O'Byrne cup with their colleges? Are they not cup-tied?

ziggy32001 (Meath)- winning is a good habit though. Good to see new guys getting an opportunity and I expect the Dunderry player to do well at full forward. Good also to see the best player we have in fullback line at full back. The best of luck to all the players /management going forward and hope nobody gets injured.

Anybody know how much longer James Mc is out. Surprised to see Harnan not picked more. Andy had him at 6 and captain on his minor team. Must be getting his feel back after being in NZ

This isn't soccer.

Good to see a decent spread of lads from across the county.

I miss all the ratoath players!

Interesting full forward line.

May the force be with them

The cup tied rule is gone this year! Players can play with counties if colleges are knocked out

Graham Reilly has an All Ireland Club Semi next week,is it not better to focus on that, then O Byrne Cup? Maybe because he is now Meath captain he wants to impress.

I'd agree. Think it's harsh on cilles really. Biggy has got game time in the OBC already. It's not the end of the world if we lose this match anyway. More important game for him next week.

Bert you know Andy has tried 7/8 ratoath players already in all the games he's had since before Christmas!!!
2 Wallaces - Eamonn and Joey
2 O'Briens - Cian and Bobby
McGill
McMahon
Power

Are there more players for us to be missing out on!!!!

Good mix of experienced and inexperienced players in that team, looking forward to seeing how we get on.

Mc Entee knows what it takes for a club to win an all Ireland, surely he should be allowing Cilles to have full access to Reilly only a week out from the biggest club game he has ever had. At the end of the day it's a preseason competition.
Kennelly on the edge of the square will be interesting, good target man

Yeah, But I would rather that Keoghon could be used as attacking half back or even a corner back with a license to go forward now and again. Rather than to stuck at full back or at corner back baby sitting others. I think he kinda wasted somehow in the fullback line.

Maybe he's wasted but he's our best man marker and should be used a such. Plus i think Andy has designs on one of Eamonn Wallace or Alan Forde as his attacking wing half back (ala Jack McCaffrey) and with their speed and accuracy they're better suited to that role.

Sure I get ya. But with Jack Mc Caffery he is not a lone solider he has plenty of support when going forward. And a system in place to cover him, and Charles Mc Carthy the far wing is a equal threat. With us we only have limited resources, and have use them as best we can. We need a decent attack plan rather than in the past just give it Biggy and the likes of Emmon Wallace and expect them to work miracles. Anyway from what I have seen so far this year our half backs and half forwards seem attack minded and look to take on the marker go forward where possible.

Has Biggy been stopped from sitting the games out by McEntee? Maybe he feels that playing competitive matches with Meath will leave him better prepared for the All Ireland semi final. I'm as surprised as anyone that he's playing OBC games this close to an All Ireland semi but maybe it's his choice.

That sounds pretty exciting actually.

I'd fancy Graham Reilly as a half back as well actually. Imagine himself and Wallace bombing forward as wing backs.
