Since his DCU days he might see that perhaps he hasn't made the most of his talent...could be his last chance and in his late 20s, he might be mature enough now to take it.

I heard he is in very good condition and will only get better if he's not dropped from the panel, I know he isn't young but he could be a decent player for us but only time will tell.

Not a bad selection at all surprised to see Reilly and Keoghan so early but not complaining this is all about testing players as early as possible before the league.

Its a good mix, I can see a completely different team on Wednesday with a mix the following Sunday. Its a new beginning for many a player who thought their chance had passes. Grab it with both hands.

I actually don't think there is that much time to play with, if we are to be serious about wanting to be promoted to Div 1 this year we play Kildare on the 5th of February and that's not that far away. So with the new management are trying to assemble a new team ready to take on Kildare and hit the ground running. We need the likes of Keoghan Tobin and Reilly etc gelling with new players. Its not like we have a settled team for the past few years. And we are a tryed and tested team. I always like this time of year hoping there might me a diamond in the rough from somewhere. Here's hoping this year.

It's always exciting and interesting to see the first selection of the year, even if it only the O'Byrne cup. A new management team nearly always brings a renewed sense of hope and intrigue as well, unfortunately we were missing that last year, things seemed a little bit lifeless.

Anyway all the best to the Meath team and Andy McEntee, it's a long road ahead and there'll be plenty of bumps along the way but once everybody gives 100% and never drops the head then we can't ask for much more.

Hi all,
been watching long enough, im posting here today for the first time with the start of a good new management & set up.
I am excited for 2017 and just bursting to see the team start out this weekend. if everyone gives 100% on pitch and sideline for each game and get decent back up from county committee, then us fan(atic)s can have little room to complain.
I wish each and every player the football year of their lives in 2017 and best wishes also to Andy and selectors and every backroom member.
hopefully we will see more traditional obstinate dogged never say die Meath attitude restored this year.

Brian Sheridan is only 27 lads for gods sake! In his prime now could be great addition

Exactly. We must be patient though. With full faith in management and players. However I think we will see improvement of attitude from.tomorrow

Just seen on twitter that Brian Sheridan will not be playing Sunday,so there could be a number of changes from the orignal side announced.

Replying To Crinigan:  "I'm very excited about the new management team but I'm not overly excited about that team to be honest. At least 5/6 lads of that panel are not up to intercounty standard.

Not a great balance to it either. Lets hope its purely about getting lads out on trial to see if they have what the management are looking for as opposed to anything more. Although, given that they've all been together training 6 times a week since October, I imagine they've a good idea of who they want to keep on."
Gawd your never happy
