Firstly great crowd from the royal, Andy will have seen areas that need improving, penalty was a odd one but will take it anyway, Kingston is some bloody player, I hate admitting it but he is. I'll give a run down when I get home, need son food first. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 14/01/2017 20:51:59 1945728 Link 1 |
Throwing away big leads again. We were very lucky by the sounds of it Maestro (Meath) - Posts: 569 - 14/01/2017 21:00:26 1945730 Link 0 |
First off, I'm bloody frozen! Close one, probably luckyish. Young Ross took the penalty well, under pressure. Not as good as last couple of matches, but understandable. Conditions not great and 3 matches at this time of the year (in 6 days) is difficult, even though the starting 15 changed each match. Move onto the semi's. Will take that David. Showed good determination at least right until the last kick! Glad of the extra game and no doubt Andy Mac is too!

Happy enough with parts of the the display tonight again it's only have January. Thats was a very strong laois team for this time of year. McMahon inside was a serious thorn in their side in the first half he's electric. Keoghan & Burke solid along with Curran & Downey. Biggy again flatters to decieve dosent pass the ball to players in better positions and against bigger teams they just allow him to run into contact and smash him or he kicks wide under pressure. Forde, Tobin & ward done well when they came on. Ward is a serious assest if the right high ball is played in won a good bit of ball aswell. Tobin made good runs and won 50 50 ball when the game was in the melting pot his work rate is top class off the ball. Forde once again rattled into numerous lads, drove forward letting intelligent ball in. My highlight was forde winning a 40 60 ball which he had no right too leaving 1 Laois players in a bundle he didn't know what hit him. Delighted to get another game next weekend under the belt and still unbeaten. Ketchup (Meath) - Posts: 22 - 14/01/2017 21:46:28 1945749 Link 0 |

Didn't make it to the game. Are we at home if Louth win tomorrow? It's always great to beat them no matter what time of the year it is. Barney123 (Meath) - Posts: 676 - 14/01/2017 22:12:27 1945752 Link 5 |
Actually thought keoghan and burke were poor this evening, hopefully a once off, allowed their men to turn them too easily st times bkingston had a field day.

He did ok, solid enough.Kicks outs where good enough. One went directly out of play but POR normally dose 2 of these per game anyway. I would with Jack Hannigan If wanted be to call it I wasn't at the game in Ashboure so I dont know much about him. But by the sounds of it Robbie Burlingham is ahead of him Joe as-well at this early stage.

The only two things ill say to that is firstly it wasn't a Meath collapse that lead to Laois resurgence just they found their shooting boots particularly Kingston, so in that regard it wasnt a typical mod implosion. Secondly unlike mod teams we kept fighting to the end, even with so many inexperienced players. Overall I am very happy with the 3 games, tried out lots of new players a lot fitter team and more grit to them. But best of all? 3 games away from micko era. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 14/01/2017 22:20:36 1945757 Link 0 |
