Meath clubs in Leinster

Replying To David:  "The three titles won was as the original club title of Donaghmore GFC.

However, Donaghmore GFC didn't amalgamate with Ashbourne, they simply changed their title of the club to Donaghmore/Ashbourne CLG to incorporate the players from Ashbourne. I think they did it around the late nineties. It was also with the impending departure from their original home in the Wotton, to the new premises. Ashbourne, to the best of my knowledge never had a club actually based solely from the Ashbourne village. I'm open to correction in those facts.

I think Simonstown Gaels only formed in the eighties, as Navan expanded. And I think they had only played in 2 Senior finals, losing to Bkackhall Gaels famously in 2003 (I think) and either the year previous or after. Again I may be incorrect."
David,Simonstown was started down the lane in Julia Clarke's house in 1965.

Replying To David:  "Yeah I'd agree with that idea of arguing either way in terms of titles won. But I think Donaghmore/Ashbourne should be going for their 4th title in their history.

But best of luck to both clubs. Good to see a title going outside of the usual few."
Regardless I think it is 1942 since Donaghmore won it,so none of these players can relate to that.It would mean everything to both teams to win this championship, but someone will be hugely disappointed.I expect it to be very very tight.

They tend to win the Offaly champ almost every year.So they always have a big focus in Leinster and are always hard to beat.Simonstown would need to be focused, but that is tough considering they just one their first county champ. Will Nash be available?

Great hard fought win for Ratoath over Clodiagh Gaels of Offaly in JHC 1-13 to 2-8 and a huge win for Kiltale against Oylegate-Glenbrien of Wexford 2-24 to 2-8, more great results for hurling in the county......

That Wexford team were very poor. Only player they had was Podge Doran.
Kiltale are capable of playing at a higher level than Leinster intermediate.

Great result for Ratoath albeit it should have been more comfortable than it was.
No one seemed to know why McGowan was sent off. The game was filmed so hopefully that will help get it rescinded if it was wrong. Referee made some totally baffling decisions against us during the course of the game so it would have been a travesty had we lost it. Strangely, their second goal was more of a square ball then the one that was disallowed.

Really was a great performance given we played three quarters of the game with 14 men. Darragh Kelly is an absolutely phenomenal hurler and if I were Martin Ennis, I'd be getting him into the squad as soon as possible. Semi final will be against either Clontarf or Rosenallis of Laois.

Great result, but they are playing Junior, same for Kiltale,I would like to see them in the Senior Leinster and Ratoath in the Intermediate.

They beat the Offaly Intermediate Champions with 14 men. No mean feat.
The only Junior teams that play in the Leinster JHC are the Kilkenny and Dublin champions.

Every county in Leinster SHC their club champions play at correct level in Leinster club hurling except meath. Sad to hear that meath u21 again opted for u21B and are not in Leinster u21 proper.
Definite lack of ambition.

think some lads are getting carried away
our inter champs are playing in a champ that has performed as bad as our senoir footballers
just because ratoath are a decent team does not mean they should be playing at a higher level, they would be bet out the gate at inter
they just about won yesterday, again a inter team from another county, lets not get carried away
there something about ratoath people and getting carried away with the teams ability just like the footballers
kiltale played like the team they are yesterday, fast skilfull hurling,
but they will come up again a top class team from kk as normall
no reason why they cant beat them , they can give anybody a game on the day

What a moronic post. Show me a single Ratoath person that's gotten "carried away"! Surely one post won't be hard to find.

Yes.
The Leinster Club JHC consists of the Junior champions from Kilkenny and Dublin, the Wexford Intermediate B champions, the Intermediate champions from Meath, Offaly, Laois, Carlow, Westmeath, Wicklow and Kildare and the Senior champions from Louth and Longford.

People obviously haven't paid too much attention to the Meath's past representative's fortunes in the Leinster JHC if they're calling for the IHC winners to be upgraded. This is only the second year that the Meath Intermediate champions have won a game in Leinster (since Rathmolyon got to the final in 2012). Clann na nGael lost to the Offaly champions by 11 points last year while Dunderry were beaten by the Kilkenny Junior champions by over 30 points the previous years' competition.
