I have seen a good bit of Daragh Campion and I believe he should be given a chance to see how good he is. Have heard great reports about David McLoughlin, anyone seen much of him playing?

Ok, I didn't know he had other commitments. In fairness he not the only only that walked away. I am not sure you can tar the whole club with the same brush. I hope not anyway things aren't that bad.

Yeah I think a lot of people would like to Forde back, From what I pick up on here is he doesn't seem to want to play at the moment. I Think once these players come back. Adam Flanagan R'OCoileain Brian Menton Conor Mc Gill Shane Mc Entee (We will just have see on Gillespie) We should be in good shape. Also new players to come in should strengthen the team. One thing with MOD he was unlucky with injures to key players. bobkarlgees (Meath) - Posts: 1263 - 12/08/2016 09:30:46 1900171 Link 0 |
Kevin Ryan could be an option in the future, but needs to keep improving..

Was MOD unlucky or was he partly to blame? I don't know that answer. Some injuries are unlucky, but a lot of injuries you have to ask questions.. No sign of Gillespie even getting back for Summerhill though.. ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 12/08/2016 10:21:53 1900191 Link 4 |
In short no but there were a few lads on the minor team this year. Remains to be seen as to whether or not they can make the step up over the next 3/4 years. But at present I don't think there's anyone of note that would commit.

I think the important phrase there is "second team". To have any chance at being a county player, they need at least to be starting for their clubs first team. While Seneschalstown are doing well at the minute, you would still think that a player with the possibility of being a county minor or U-21 should be making their first team.

Now, not only am I not allowed give you my opinion as to why certain players should not be on the panel, i am also not allowed to tell you that I cannot give my opinion. Censorship is alive and well !! anfearbeag (Meath) - Posts: 1134 - 15/08/2016 23:56:59 1901551 Link 4 |

Browne Gk, R Clarke, c halligan, T O Reilly, D Rowe, B Conlon, D O Neill, C Harnan. All young lads that should be brought in. Most of them are already strong and athletic just need game time at inter county level, Any word on how long C Nash is away for? Forglory (Meath) - Posts: 85 - 16/08/2016 11:02:39 1901660 Link 0 |

Yeah some of those deserve a look at for sure.. Haven't seen Brian Conlon play but heard he is 19/20? and a big guy? Kept Stephen Bray quiet last week I am told.. ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 16/08/2016 22:34:58 1902065 Link 3 |
Surprisingly one name that is never mentioned is Podge McGowan from Slane. There isn't another talent like him in the county, being seriously overlooked by u21 and county management. GoldenNugget (Meath) - Posts: 2 - 16/08/2016 22:57:15 1902071 Link 0 |
Seriously? No way is he county material.. ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 17/08/2016 10:13:49 1902121 Link 4 |
Ziggy you must know a lot about mc gowan to be so sure, not like you to right off young players. He was on minor panel last year and from what I saw he definitely has potential like all the players mentioned here.
