Replying To browncows:  "Maybe you are paying too much attention to Paddy. He also had Dunboyne as favourites for the senior championship."
Who would have thought it- a favourite got beaten. It's almost as if odds are an inexact science, and that occasionally the underdog wins. Damn sport !

Favourites in bookies are determined by fools betting their money and most of them know little about football.

Many did not have them as favourites (except guys like yourself and some south Meath clubs). They were always going to have difficulty in beating Simonstown and St Pats beat them which was always an indicator that they would not have it their own way. There will be new champions this year and I think it could be another Navan side but then again it is pretty open with all teams having a pretty good chance

Where is browncows from?

Anyway, Nash is gone in December isn't he. Conlon looks good, I have no idea what he's like defensively or whether his style of play can be transferred to today's intercounty game but there's plenty to work with there, exciting prospect considering he's only out of minor. SOR is such a classy player I'm like a broken record with him but such a pity if he can never get back to the fitness required now.

I love the line in the 'team of the week' piece re Nash "Why are we letting this youngster go to Australia?"

Erm, well it's a free country and he's not under any contract to Meath GAA, so why would "we" (whoever "we" refers to) have any say in what he does?

Shame that he's going but that's life and nothing anyone can do about it.
