Put it this way lads,if Andy,Gerry and Donal cannot get the mentality right in the Meath camp, then there is no hope for them! :) ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 04/08/2016 09:50:41 1895185 Link 1 |

But if they declined how were they nominated?? You had to approach a manager first to see if they were interested. Now they may have been approached, but they are not part of the nominations.. ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 04/08/2016 10:34:19 1895218 Link 1 |
They didn't decline both are part of the nominees

How do you know the nominations if they haven't been released? I know for a fact one of them put their own name forward and another was nominated. Nothing has been released for definite so people need to stop playing a guessing game

He declined and the Meath Chronicle said that the names were Andy McEntee,Shane McAnareny,Sean Barry and Davy Nelson.. They also said other managers were approached by clubs but declined.. ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 04/08/2016 12:31:19 1895366 Link 1 |
See link this is just up on chronicle now http://www.meathchronicle.ie/sport/gaa/articles/2016/08/04/4124394-brother-act--mcentees-could-form-new-meath-senior-football-management-team/ meath1967 (Meath) - Posts: 56 - 04/08/2016 12:45:07 1895380 Link 0 |
Think we'll have to let Ziggy think he knows all, as its a fact that one of the Dublin lads mentioned put his own name forward and was nominated by his club. Curran may have come out declining but he was put forward as well. Until its released by the County Board we may stop guessing and stop listening to the same paper that tried to say MO'D would be successful... meathforsam09 (Meath) - Posts: 116 - 04/08/2016 12:54:40 1895395 Link 0 |
The rule was you could not nominate a manager unless they were interested. So how did Curran decline after he was nominated? If this happened it was against the rules.. ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 04/08/2016 13:12:48 1895427 Link 1 |
Can we get details of what clubs nominated who? Not that it matters, I think its now a given that Andy will be the next manager.

yeah apparently it will be proposed on Monday. This is the best news Meath have had in years. We will still have those who will say "We haven't got the players",but fitness, structure and belief can be improved by these men.

Know as much as you RD, I wouldnt expect an official statement from Co. Commttee etc until any manager, Andy or other, is fully ratified on both sides. You'd hope that could be done after the next meeting on monday 8th but probably some will want to go back to their clubs for direction on which way to vote which could delay everything till the next scheduled meeting in September. Hope Im wrong as this is pure speculation and guesswork on my part Grrrr! lets get Meath going again! meath1967 (Meath) - Posts: 56 - 04/08/2016 18:25:21 1895795 Link 0 |
Should be a quick resolution to be honest.Vast majority of clubs voted for him,so if the board do propose him even if they go back to their clubs, they shouldn't have to wait for the next meeting..

Ok owing to censorship my previous post didn't make it through. Basically I found a particular line in the Chronicle pretty funny, and also yay McEntee, that is all. Htaem (Meath) - Posts: 8657 - 04/08/2016 21:29:09 1895897 Link 2 |
Which line???

Haven't got the Chronicle at hand ziggy so I can't quote it directly but it was the one about not being able to release the nominations over the weekend because there was no administration staff in till Tuesday to process them. It's not exactly hilarious but I laughed when I read it because it sounded a bit like a lame 'the dog ate my homework' type excuse for not releasing the names over the weekend, that's all. Thought that myself be fair.In fact I mentioned it to my girlfriend while reading it! Her eyes went up to heaven.. :)
