I'm not 100% sure but is that not Navan town's soccer pitch?

As you come out of Navan on the left hand side there's a pitch which is Navan O'Mahonys.

Navan Town's is further out to the right and has the prefabs from Aras Tailteann.

I would think that if we wants to pursue a career of being a doctor, he might want to stick around for more than a year or two. I suspect that all the mentoring in the world from Gerry McEntee isn't going to get him through a medical degree in a couple of years.

Isn't Gerry considered one of the grates in surgery in the world over the past 30 odd years? Now I agree it wont guarantee a degree , but that type of mentoring is priceless,

Any chance of Michael Deegan switching allegiances or has this ship sailed. Seems to be going well for Donaghmore/ Ashbourne in the championship this year.

I'll choose my words carefully, as previous comments I have made on this have not got through.

Given the fact that he has played all his county underage football with Dublin, despite growing up and playing club football in Meath, would seem to suggest that his loyalties lie strongly with the Dub. Given that, it is hard to see him switching allegiance at this stage.
To be honest, even if he did request a switch, I would not want to see him playing with Meath. It is certainly reasonable to question how committed he could ever be to Meath, given his past, and given the fierce rivalry between the two counties. He obviously considers himself a Dub - let him play with Dublin. If he is not good enough to play for Dublin, then tough luck. Lots of Dublin club footballers are not good enough to play for the county.
Let Meath take its chances with a team of Meath men who want to play for the county because they are proud to wear the green and gold- not because they weren't good enough to wear blue.

Holy God. I would never want a dub playing for Meath.

Just wow...no way

What would happen if the horrible auld Dub did play for Meath...and ended up showing more heart and a never say die attitude than our own Meath lads ? it would be a terrible thought to think or see young Deegan scoring 1:4 against Dublin his own county in a leinster final for Meath and beating Dublin ...i for one would be twisting and turning in the bed at night just thinking about it...absolutely terrible :)

I've no issue myself with it happening, Cork were happy to take in a bus load of Kildare lads. But the player has to make himself available to us and not be chased. Do we want to be like the FAI desperately hoping English born lads will declare.

I agree. In my opinion we have a significant need in 3 key areas. We need a consistant and reliable full back, a dominant midfielder and a scoring forward to replace Stephen Bray. Maybe Daragh Rowe is that player, I havent seen enough of him to comment.

I'd like to see Nash and Jones at midfield.

Could big Harry do a job at 14?

Deegan no where near good enough to play with Meath let alone Dublin, Nash is headed for oz and in any case although he has fantastic ability more often than not he does not perform, especially when the chips are down. Jones is another with potential but has a lot to prove. Brian Conlon, Thomas o Reilly, Darragh Campion and Dylan Brady are 4 who i would think could make a real impact, have to say Cathal Finn looked impressive in an abysmal Dunboyne side last week

Holy God...!

"Not good enough to nail down a starting berth in the Dublin side, maybe we should claim him...?"

And therein lies the limit of our ambitions as a footballing stronghold.
