But you cant push someone into a job they dont really want. I think football has really changed in the past 5 years even. I think Meath have been crying out for someone like Andy Mc Antee the past ten years. Banty was a step backwards (old style manager) I never liked his appointment. I was optimistic with MOD at the start I taught he might we the forward looking manger that we need. But it turned out very badly. I don't know much about Andy Mc Antee or the type of football he plays. All I know is his cv. But I am would be very optimistic about A'Mc in charge as he is someone that has very recent silverware. I don't buy into we dont have the players. Sure we have a lot of work to do but. But someone that can make in the cut throat football in Dublin senior championship. Plus other achievements is good enough for me. Plus the fact he sounds like he is up for challenge."

The Dublin championship is the best and hardest in the country. As you say he won silverware recently, working in the environment of the Dublin championship. He would have learnt a lot and seen a lot about how things are done and have to done. From what I have seen of him and heard from people in Ashbourne and varies other places,is that he gets players fighting for the team. His teams generally have a good mentality regardless of results. This is what we want most as fans.Get the best of out of a bunch of players.Michael Darragh McCauley said he was the best manager he ever worked with.

I agree with Ziggy2001 that Andy McEntee sees that its (essential and) possible to reverse the senior teams situation asap. This is Very encouraging although I believe it will require a lot of hard work by him, the players, a lot of smart thinking & strong backroom support/expertise and mature Committee & delegate support in order to reverse the recent trend.
This turnaround is possible if/when he gets the panel properly fit, organised and playing properly together with the right attitude for 70+ minutes. If he gets 2-4 new players, this could drive things on further making the Meath team competitive and uncompromising again (which would be refreshing)
Plenty of variables or possibilities and challenges to be encountered there I know but a first step towards Div 1 League status in 2018 & playing (intercounty) Championship in August next year is to appoint Andy McEntee. He has the most impressive CV and experience and is the most qualified Meathman by a country mile BAR none.
Would love to have him appointed at the next Co. board Meeting in Seneschalstown on the 8 August. there is no time to lose and so much to be done, get him on board asap.
Ps C. O Rourke was a great player and is busy with TV/Media career etc, lets leave it there so

I don't like it either but I would have thought it was completely unnecessary in this case to be honest, just tell us who the bloody nominees are, it's not a state secret and Meath fans would love to know.

Totally agree, its not like its a nato meeting or classified emails on Hillary Clinton server. For gods sake, just let us know who is nominated.

McEntee got 43 nominations from clubs Callaghan 2 Sean Barry 2 and McGrath 1.
That puts Andy in a strong position he can demand what he likes now. McGrath still has a chance as county board will fear McEntee no end he will call the shots. New chairman and treasure from December and new type championship will be hard for the board to cough up fines galore will be the norm which will hit the board also where it hurts
I expect Barry to have a shout but a 2nd outside manager is on the cards
