There is no doubt that a change of management was needed, but whoever comes in faces a huge task, present panel is not strong enough and I expect several to be under pressure (would not include POR in that bracket). Hopefully injuries will clear up and the best in county will be willing and keen to play for Meath. Whoever takes the job has a serious task ahead of him. seadog54 (Meath) - Posts: 2151 - 10/07/2016 18:58:54 1880272 Link 0 |
Graham Reilly in trouble?? Lmfao. Only 3 certainty to be kept, graham Reilly, keoghan, and O'Sullivan, everyone else will be looked at, id expect Reilly to be name captain under a new manager, I think Donal should be left to concentrate on what he does best, defending, cant have same capt , as mod had, all backroom team must also be said goodbye to. Fresh start under Andy. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 10/07/2016 19:24:46 1880305 Link 0 |
Well with that in mind, what about Anthony Moyles? As an alternative to A.McE obviously, not ahead of him.

Moyles has managed nobody of note though, I think we need some experience at this time.

Possibly yes.He does know his stuff and is up with the modern game etc.. He wouldn't accept the current culture either. But he is very unproven as a manager so would be a risk.As part of a management team perhaps though. ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 10/07/2016 19:57:49 1880349 Link 0 |
RD No way is Graham Reilly captain material,I almost spilled my coffee there! :D ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 10/07/2016 19:59:45 1880352 Link 0 |
True, then again neither had Sean Boylan. Moyles certainly talks a good game when interviewed and on the radio pieces he does with newstallk. And one couldn't question his passion for Meath football. But I do accept he would be pretty inexperienced for that level. Jinxie (Meath) - Posts: 6344 - 10/07/2016 20:00:34 1880353 Link 0 |
Cillian would be good captain.

Who then? Burke? If he remains, we need someone who has been around awhile, por? Probably won't be on team,

Too young , it has to be a experience player

I agree, but I actually think if not Andy we probably have to look outside county, Moyles would be good in backroom though.

Yeah, Burke would be good if he stays. Menton an option if he was enticed back bert09 (Meath) - Posts: 1792 - 10/07/2016 20:25:03 1880376 Link 0 |
He had a column in the Meath Chronicle and I have been largely impressed with him..

You need someone with leadership qualities age doesn't really matter.I would still consider Keoghan he does lead by example.Burke and Menton are two others I would add into the conversation.I don't really see anybody else..

Who outside the county would you consider?

As captain I'd go for Burke or harnan. Jinxie (Meath) - Posts: 6344 - 10/07/2016 20:36:56 1880392 Link 0 |
Actually Harnan isn't a bad shout either...

I always thought moyles might be good but find him a tad negative. bert09 (Meath) - Posts: 1792 - 10/07/2016 20:49:49 1880401 Link 0 |
