But he needs to prove is worth I dont think he can get the job, unless he had some manger experience first. I am not aware he has any. Way to risky for me and another shot in the dark. I would to see him as a selector tough."
Would agree with you there, like to see him in as selector but his appointment would be similar to MODs, nice man but unproven. McEntee seems the best option so far.

Apart from Andy is there any other realistic contenders? I just cant see the Cb ratifying him. I dont see either GG or AM as alternatives really as they have no real experience at inter county level. And I wouldnt look just inside this county either.

Well according to the Examiner he has been approached and I know myself that he is interested in the job big time.

I suppose as an outsider, I shouldn't have a view on the next Meath manager and I don't but for Cripes sake invest in your team, invest in your structure. The most important input in to Monaghan GAA in the past 10/12 years hasn't been Malachy O Rourke but the management of funds and resources to our Senior team, our flag bearer. If it wasn't for Investec or FKM, Monaghan wouldn't have had the recent successes relative to a County of our size. Gaels win scorn at the idea of throwing more money at an Amateur set-up but to keep up with the Jones you gotta spend like the Jones !!

I've always admired the great Meath teams of the past and hope you get this appointment right. Just invest in your team and back them.

Anyone have any idea of who will come in with McEntee if he's willing to take it? Ridiculous moyles stating he wanted the job sure he's done nothing management wise to vindicate even being in the running a bit like mod originally. Also does anyone reckon there'll be many additions to the current squad which could really make a difference?

Did ye hear Spillane on Sunday saying Colm wouldn't be in the studio next year as he'll be managing Meath! He appeared non-committal on the comment, rather than laugh it of as nonsense. I wonder has he an interest in the job as of now, unlike in the past. Not saying he is a better choice than most people's favourite, but could become a contender for the role.

Was thinking much the same, over the last few weeks he seemed to keep his opinions of Meath football to himself. Still hard to see him giving up his roles in the media.

No he would be a disaster Imo, has talked too much about what other mangers should be doing, team would be all over the place, plus it would be a case of Colm O'Rourke over Meath, rather than Meath over Colm O'Rourke, this is the same man who hailed mods appointment.
Moyles is great at the auld punditry too, but in no way has qualification to be county manager.
1 name, 1 man. Andy McEntee.

Not too sure about Colm O'Rourke to be honest.

Great to hear Andy Mc really wants the job, Wanting it rather than been pushed into it. Would you trust the CB to make the appointment ? or butcher it somehow ? Nothing would surprise me.

Seemingly many of the players want Andy too,if that is true, then the county board would have to make it happen.

I want to see flair players added to the squad with this new manager. Plenty of them about who can switch it on. Donal Landy, Alan Forde, Brian Menton, Bobby O Brien, Ruairi O Coilean, Conor Downey, Faire Row..plenty of talent. Along with some of the minors and 21s who look to make the step within a year or 2.

I have fears for the appointment of McEntee, although I back him as a top class manager, I just think if he gets ratified he is already carrying such high hopes and expectations before he even starts.

I thought O'Brien deserved more chances.

Honestly, Alan Forde didn't look all that great when I saw him for NOM last season. Didn't I hear he just didn't want to commit to intercounty training?
