Micko gone

I would have Andy Mcentee in the morning as the new Meath manger !

But what kind of job is he talking up after the Mod years ?

Will his first years in charge be cleaning up after Mod ?

I would love Andy Mcentee to come into the job and just concentrate on football and nothing else!

There was one year left on Mods hand shake last year..i think Sean Boylan and Pat Gilroy should be the men to be in charge of that year so they can put good foundation in for Andy Mcentee to work with the following year!

Remember Pat Gilroy made Dublin ..Jim Gavin is a great manger but without Pat Gilroy first few years nothing would ever have happened for Jim Gavin!

And i dont have to say anything about Sean Boylan ..two men would work together well ensuring Andy Mcentee has no baggage from the Mod years!

But if there is no problems or Baggage ...Andy Mcentee all day long !

Thank god, on a human level you obviously have to feel sorry for mod, but days like this cannot be allowed to continue, I wish him well personally,
However on a football level he has been a disaster, I wrote on this after the Armagh game and actually questioned should he continue for the 3rd year, the writing was on the wall from that day, and unfortunately I was proved right, the end for me was Westmeath game, and I think it has mentally destroyed alot of the players too, unfortunately for mod he will always be remembered as the manager of Meath who lost our great record against or western half, for me that was is and forever will be my lowest moment in footballing terms.
As it stands now there os only one man who can take over and that man is Andy McEntee, I would like to see his brother and perhaps fay and Geraghty take up rolls within his backroom team. The only problem is this is virtually same CB that sh1t on Andy when he was minor manager, I feel their credibility is in shambles, they reappointed mod in a very arrogant manner without any consultation, those chickens have come home to roost, I have zero confidence in them.
If I am honest we all know the possible candidates Andy, Gerry, Graham, and perhaps john Evans, and while they all have claims it would be ludicrous to not appoint Andy at this junction, he knows most of the panel and has a proven track record.
No need for committees, just appoint Andy.

I hope Andy McEntee actually wants the job, whether he can improve us or not remains to be seen but he's the best option if we're going to pick a Meath man.

Thanks to MOD for all his efforts he has a young family gave it his all for his county. It just did not work at all I am disappointing for him a honest guy. But hopefully its the end of sorry chapter in Meath football. Andy McEntee for me also. Hopefully he will at least give it some taught.

No matter who comes in bar he can bring players with him it won't make much difference. The quality available in Meath is not good enough to achieve what a lot of deluded people in Meath see as our level. Andy mc was with meath minors a few years back and had 10 from Dunboyne on the team. Granted that wont be repeated as half the Dunboyne team are now from Dublin

Ye I think some of the players currently on the panel may not even be interested in continuing on next year. A lot of them must be physically and mentally shattered at this stage and the first big challenge for our new manager (whoever he his), will be to convince the players that they can actaully play a second half of football.

I fear if they don't get their man then it's just going to be another wipe out with the knives out once they lose.

Whoever it is.. I just hope they instill heart, courage passion and style. Will tip my hat to Meath team going down fighting for 10 years before I look at another 10 seconds of what the County has subjected to over the last 4 years"
Royallo 11 Agreed ! Essential that the right man is appointed in the correct fashion. No need for any rush . A few weeks should do the job. Important that the people who re appointed MOD in the manner they did should now stand back from the process, other than rubber stamping.

Thats the thing Htaem..if i said your the next manger of Meath you would think i hated you :)

I think there has to be a healing process for the players ..and there is only one man in this county that can do that!

Agree Hteam but you never know if got menton back and few others and decent system going there is hope. But I agree even if we have soom decent honest hard working players it going to big big ask to undo the mental damage already done.

Why is Graham Geraghty being touted as potential manager material?

Honestly .do ye think Andy McEntee would leave a club that has just won an all Ireland .and are probably better resourced than meath .also do ye think he would get involved with our cb .

Maybe some of the posters on here should take the job, seem to have all the answers. If Andy mc does get the job there will be a thread on here next summer criticising him also. Results don't lie. We are a bottom half Div 2 team who are at best 8 to 10 points off Dublin and thats on a good day. Over time that will change but not in next 2/3 years
