"We haven't chance " that's a bit harsh. Where are you reading that ziggy ?

Wouldn't mind him. I'd have zero time him. He couldn't keep his mouth closed inside the dressing room and he's as bad now outside of it.

Whether you agree with him or not,if I was in his position I wouldn't be saying what he is saying. Although I hope the players read what he said as it may help motivate.I really really hope we win,but my head is telling me otherwise. Team selection will be interesting.

Out of interest, when was the last time we beat Derry? I certainly can't remember us beating them in the recent past. Ratoath Royal (Meath) - Posts: 1362 - 07/07/2016 13:33:03 1877890 Link 3 |
Agreed Jinxie... those who have played against him on the club scene can attest to the kind of character he is.

"How not to throw a grenade" should have been the headline to Kevin article ! WhyTheLongFace (Meath) - Posts: 876 - 07/07/2016 14:04:18 1877916 Link 3 |
Lads posting comments under a veil of anonymity on a forum are well-positioned to criticise... At least Reilly puts his name to the comments. I'm not sure what the big deal is - he gave his honest opinion. So what. BarneysTie (Meath) - Posts: 258 - 07/07/2016 14:17:36 1877931 Link 1 |
Don't really see what the problem is with his comments, he's telling it as it is instead of sugar coating it like some other people. Barney123 (Meath) - Posts: 676 - 07/07/2016 14:38:43 1877946 Link 3 |
I think Reilly is using some reverse psychology here, issuing a challenge to the team to show he is wrong in his estimation of the team. This is a must win for Meath for a number of reasons, nemlodoak (Meath) - Posts: 170 - 07/07/2016 14:40:57 1877948 Link 0 |
Eamonn Barry was manager when we beat them last in a league game in Navan.

Do you think Meath have NO chance though?

Well Kevin Reilly said we must keep MOD,now he says we have no chance of beating Derry who are very average. ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 07/07/2016 15:16:21 1877969 Link 1 |
Reverse psychology ??? Their is probably Lads on the Meath team right now happy to agree with him booking there holidays for next week as we speak ! I don't think reverse psychology would work with these boys to be honest ..i think them feeling sorry for themselves after getting spanked by their Dublin Daddy is what they prefer ! Trust me these boys wont beat Derry or the Derry u12 team this Saturday because they are already gone on holidays ! WhyTheLongFace (Meath) - Posts: 876 - 07/07/2016 15:18:45 1877971 Link 3 |
Unless Kevin knows more about what has gone on the last few weeks.Something that Moyles suggested recently. Its up to the players to prove him and people wrong on Saturday.

Ok I wouldn't agree with no chance I think it's a 50/50 game. But he is right that it must have been very tough after the loss to Dublin, luckily we had the two weeks to prepare though.

That "thing" moyles suggested is fairly well known I think. Sometimes it's not even the night of the game it's the following day as well.

I don't think Kevin's doubt lies over the quality in the Meath team he doubts if the lads will be able to motivate themselves after the beating from Dublin. Uncle_Fester (Meath) - Posts: 217 - 07/07/2016 15:51:09 1877998 Link 0 |
God, Reilly comments are harsh. Its hard to know what to make of them comments, He is probably just saying what he thinks. I am not sure Meath where that gutted and at a such a low after the Dublin game. I sure they will pick themselves up ok. I still reckon they Meath will put decent performance against Derry. bobkarlgees (Meath) - Posts: 1263 - 07/07/2016 16:06:24 1878010 Link 0 |
Should they not be used to losing to Dublin(as annoying as that is)?
