Match time is a bit much for us with young kids who have school following morning, but it is totally understandable. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 23/06/2016 07:29:46 1870999 Link 0 |
Yeah that's to suit Kildare-Westmeath game which was at 2. But if so why not change leave Meath Dublin at 4, and change the Kildare-Westmeath to 6:30 ? As the Ireland is at 2.

Surely schools are finished at this stage?

The Gaa heading their bets I suppose, the Ireland game won't end till near 4pm and if it goes to extra time then it will be after 4 which would still affect attendances badly. Of course the other thing is you could have a lot of drunk people in Croker come 6.35 on Sunday! Htaem (Meath) - Posts: 8657 - 23/06/2016 10:19:37 1871057 Link 1 |
Hedging their bets even

No decision to be made in really. Playing the games to clash with Ireland game would cost GAA a large amount of €. Good time for Dublin & Meath but suspect there'll still be a small crowd for first game. Remember the paltry crowd in Laois last week. But its ok for Kildare/WestMeath game to start at 4:15 regardless of potential extra time ? Yes I am guessing its going to be very messy at 6:30 in croke park.

Show it on the big screen in croke park and allow those with kids watch it and save having to be rushing to the venue or bringing them into jammed pubs. When they went this far finish it out. Some supporters will be travelling we are not all just the hour away from Croke Park. Sure some of the Kildare and Westmeath supporters would appreciate it. The Meath/Dublin saga of twenty five years took place after Italy 1990 and was credited with giving the GAA a much needed shot in the arm at the time, the hype is back so any chance of a repeat from the two teams (same outcome) seadog54 (Meath) - Posts: 2153 - 23/06/2016 19:37:12 1871331 Link 1 |
Good decision to show the match in croke park bobkarlgees (Meath) - Posts: 1263 - 23/06/2016 19:45:36 1871333 Link 0 |

MOD keeps faith with same fifteen seadog54 (Meath) - Posts: 2153 - 24/06/2016 08:38:53 1871418 Link 1 |
Suppose we have been asking for consistent team selection and that's what MOD has given us. McDonagh is a worry for me though, he was poor against Louth and and I don't think he's as good as McMahon but hopefully he can prove me wrong, would be great to see. Htaem Agree 100% with your post.I think he had to go with the same team, but we need to be clinical up top,McMahon would have been a better option. ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 24/06/2016 10:18:53 1871446 Link 1 |

Yeah McMahon for me aswell, Hopefully he will full of energy coming of the bench. As Dublin will have plenty of quality sitting on the bench also. Normal process for beating the dubs is no goals as a goal is worth about 5 pints to Dublin. As usually a goal is followed by more scores and the temperature rises. I don't think we cant not stop Dublin scoring goals so how we manage is key. Once they come we should dig in and try to survive. I am worried about or lack of goals scored recently but if we get a bit of luck I can see us creating goal chances, we just need to take them. And hopefully a few will rattle the Dublin net. bobkarlgees (Meath) - Posts: 1263 - 24/06/2016 11:50:40 1871481 Link 0 |
