Replying To browncows:  "The've made a royal mess of it. Where was hawk-eye-was it on turned off, or just away on holidays for the weekend. How many officials where involved. Could we give any of tem a black card!"
Ref seemed hesitant to make hawkeye signal. Not sure if he actually knew it was in operation or not.

I'd just promote both teams to the leinster round robin next year. Replay the game to decide who gets the cup. Very difficult for both teams to gather themselves together for a winner takes all rematch.

As RatoathRoyal says the best way forward is to allow both teams compete next year in the McCarthy cup but that takes a little bit of common sense which is in short supply these days. A replay would be of no use to anyone. Jimin10 did not see all the game but there was comments made on air about lack of hawkeye/availability.

Was right beside the action Saturday and with the scoreboard reading a point up for meath and the game seconds from being over I distinctly heard the meath management roaring at toher to kill the ball which he did . The cock up is entirely of the gaa's own making and to even think of ordering a replay to save their own bacon is unjustified beyond belief. The cup is home in meath where it belongs this year . Perhaps when the ccc are reviewing the whole game they would take into consideration the rest of the mistakes made by the same ref. Heaveys point that wasn't!! And Toher pulled for steps as he turned that resulted in a direct point !!! Along with the rest. I seen men cry last Saturday in croke park , one said its been 24 years since he had such a feeling of pure pride in a Meath jersey , and to think that it was the hurlers that gave it back to him. He said the old Meath spirit was back ----- the singing from the royal supporters was a pure joy , you'd think croke park was full of meath supporters!!!!!!!! SO THAT CUP IS STAYING HERE. And if they want to save face and any more agro promote Antrim as well, there would not be one objection from this county.

We are the champions. Simple as that. The scoreboard was the reference all players worked off and played to that.
We stood firm in 2010 when all and sundry tried to take it from us. That was our precedent.
Hopefully we'll do the same tomorrow.
Nothing will take from the pride I felt in Croke Park on Saturday.

Lads i agree that the mistake was with the scoreboard and not the players or management,

But why dont we offer a replay if CCCC say no well we didnt offer, The Meath Louth issue from a few years back we had a chance to do the right thing and we didnt ,

Leinster medal tainted .

Dont do it with the Christy ring, if the shoe was on the other foot what would we want?

A replay.....

Wonderful performance from the entire team, were a true credit to themselves and the county. Same goes for the Antrim players, everyone gave 100%. Can't see a replay happening as both sets of players must be really fecked off at the total lack of respect shown to them by the GAA hierarchy. This was an All Ireland final lads, total disgrace on the part of the GAA. If they want the cup back, fine with me, so long as we send it back full of dogshit!
Only common sense solution is to allow both to play in Leinster qualifiers next year. A couple of years ago Kildare won the CR cup and didn't get promoted so they'll be rightly annoyed if they see both Meath and Antrim promoted.

Replying To numberedjerseys:  "Word today is the ref lost his pencil and went to the umpire who had it scribbled on the post both ref and umpires checked the post after the game and it was inconclusive so they went by the scoreboard which was wrong.
We will have now to wait for the report which has a picture of the scribbles on the post included

Anyway Meath don't give replays so that's that the cup with stay in the Royal county

Home coming is players get bus in trim at 1pm to go to ratoath and then back to reception in trim at 7pm"
Would love to know the source of the info re ref!!

Yes a reply would be best and hopefully there will be one, but with regard to the Louth game in 2010, the fact a reply wasn't offered was not down to Meath, there were several really strong influences from Croke park and a fear from them that a precedent would be set if a replay was offered.

What a weekend for the small ball in the county!!

A shame this scoreboard fiasco is taking the limelight off a fantastic fightback and some real quality hurling by Meath in the dying stages of the game. I've to hold my hands up and admit that after the league I'd lost all faith in the management, never in my wildest dreams could I imagine the year finishing like it did on Saturday, credit to all involved. Meaths best day in croke park since 99.

No way should Meath consider fulfilling a replay. Hopefully the GAA don't leave it up to Meath to offer one, how this could happen in an All Ireland final is beyond a joke, the GAA and Croke park should take the hit on this one but will no doubt leave the decision with Meath to save their blushes.
There was 10 minutes between the final whistle and the cup being presented, too many lads in suits sitting on their hands. If the score was to be questioned it should have been done then.

Obviously the CC CC don't have a mind of their own since the president made the call.

GAA should be ashamed!!!
No apology to either team yet. Ó Fearghail says they "have to be fair and honest". Well, the fair and honest thing to do would be to stand up and accept responsibility for the shambles on Saturday evening! But that is obviously too much to expect from the GAA when it comes to Meath. They would rather let all the crap rain down on Meath once again than admit they made a serious error.

why has it taken 3 days for them to meet?

Ah sure it was a b/h weekend...couldn't expect lads to ruin their weekend plans by dealing with such a small issue.

I'm being sarcastic of course. It shows utter contempt for both counties to leave it until today. Can you imagine if this had happened in a Liam McCarthy match at any stage of the competition?! For example at Semple on Sunday? I doubt they'd have waited a few days in that case.

Did the CCC not have a meeting at 2am before the All Ireland semi final last year to get Connolly off his suspension? That's one Dublin player being catered for while 60 Meath and Antrim lads are left in limbo.

Also, surely the opinion of the CCC will be tainted going on what the president of the association (their boss) is after saying, coming out declaring a replay should be played leaves them with no alternative. Beyond a joke
