Replying To OLLIE:  "Antrim scored a point and on the scoreboard it was awarded to Meath."
This should happen more often IMO.

Well done, your second half performance deserved it. Irrespective of any miscounts on the scoreline NO ONE in Antrim I have spoken tonight wants a replay. The scoreline should stand in our opinion.

Just watched the game again
The final score was correct
Croke park score board was wrong from ht
It showed Antrim with a point extra
Tnag score board was adjusted in 64min
Meath won by a point
No case to follow up the ref pointed this out to linesman on 64min
Meath Christy ring champions 2016

Word today is the ref lost his pencil and went to the umpire who had it scribbled on the post both ref and umpires checked the post after the game and it was inconclusive so they went by the scoreboard which was wrong.
We will have now to wait for the report which has a picture of the scribbles on the post included

Anyway Meath don't give replays so that's that the cup with stay in the Royal county

Home coming is players get bus in trim at 1pm to go to ratoath and then back to reception in trim at 7pm

Pure, pure courage. Great bunch of lads never, never say die is alive and well. By far the fitter team.
All the conflict over the score.......so what if it was a draw? How do you think the extra time would have gone? Antrim were simply dead on their feet.

Absolutely, I said all along that Meath's fitness and stamina would be enough to take them over the line. Antrim were already struggling in the last ten minutes while Meath were just starting to get into their stride. Fantastic game, fantastic comeback, whatever happens next the lads can be rightly proud of their achievement this year, it's not their fault what happened but that won't stop the begrudges tarnishing a great day.
I was pleasantly surprised at the Meath support yesterday, every hurling fan in the county was there, hope the Co Board take notice of this and build on it for the future of Meath GAA, from yesterday's performance there's no reason we can't be at the top table in both codes.

Ref final say unless other evidance says otherwise or video evidance so gaa could over rule ref if the video shows

Word is wont happen and that ref over ruled umpire on advise of linesman on point waved wide for Meath at davin end in second half

I'm guessing that you're referring to this link. If you skip on to an hour, Seán Heavey's effort was flagged wide despite cheers from the Meath crowd and the puzzled response from the commentators. Both the ref and linesman on that side would've had a great view of it.

What an absolute mess the GAA have made of this. Did they just take any randomer off the street to work the scoreboard??? From the Dublin crest being displayed next to "An Mhí" at first to at least 3 or 4 occasions where a point for one of the team's was marked as a point for the other.
And the silence from the GAA means that once again everyone is turning to Meath as if we're responsible for this.

I'd agree a replay is needed. But that puts Meath at a huge disadvantage. There was only going to be one winner in extra time! Antrim were out on their feet while Meath were coming in waves. Now we face a full 70 minutes after vigorously celebrating a "victory" in the original match. No one could get players back in the right frame of mind after that.

Massive well done to the team though. Feared the worst after 20 minutes but they outscored Antrim by 9 points from then until full time and really deserved the win (I wonder if Toher would have aimlessly dropped the last minute free wide had it been known to be a draw).

Meath deserve to be in the Liam McCarthy next year. It may seem like the wasy way out to promote both sides, but I honestly can't see anything else that wouldn't be grossly unfair on the Meath players.

Was in croke park on Saturday.it was magic at the end.singing from the royals that I haven't heard in years. It was in paper this morning that a replay is happening. Cccc meeting tomorrow to decide where and when. Knowing the gaa we will have to pay for another ticket. Error was with them ,maybe free tickets??????

Its a no brainer ref made mistake he will correct it in his report and state game was a draw. Totally different to 2010 when sluddden stood by his decision.
Gaa will order replay they have no option but too going by refs report. It will go down to human error. Antrim will stand by they have no need to object.
Meath will refuse to play and you cant blame them.

That's when the stand off will occur and the GAA will look for a way out and come up with a compromise

I reckon GAA would love if ref just puts it down 2-18 to 1-20 and have a bit of head in the sand stuff
