Some good games to look forward too.
Bective v Clann na Gael ----- Bective at ease. Poor result by Clann na Gael in tailteann cup.
Carnaross v Senchelstown ---- Carnaross in a close game JL Magee will have too much scoring power.
Dunshaughlin v Skryne --- Dunsahughlin will win by 10 tonight and will be in the final
Dunsany v Summerhill --- Summerhill to beat Dunsany. Hurling getting in Dunsany's way.

Semi
Bective v Carnaross ---- Carnaross to go one better this year and make the final
Summerhill v Dunshaughlin --- Dunshaughlin in a close game. Summerhill will lose players to senior

Final
Carnaross v Dunshaughlin --- Dunshaughlin to have an intermediate team next year."
Did JL Magee not break his leg last week?

You are right - Summerhill did win it in 75. However since Walterstown won it in 1978, the only other winners were Gaeil Colmcille in 1992. One second team in the past 38years. Maybe we should be asking whether the current set up is fair on the second teams!
I would be surprised if a second team wins it this year either. Between Bective, Dunsany and Carnaross, there should be enough to deny the second teams again.

Yes they were junior then. They then won the intermediate in 1992 and the senior in 1998.

It is interesting to look back and see all all the teams that have come up to the senior ranks in the past 20-25 years. There has been a real change around in Meath football. Back then, the likes of Dunboyne, Dunshaughlin, Simonstown, Ashbourne were all Junior or intermediate teams. Now all are established senior sides. I suppose it reflective of the increased urbanisation of areas to the south of the county.

I am a very disappointed dunshaughlin man today. Game was there to be won but we did not get going. I don't know what to think now. I still think a 2nd team from this side of draw will win it out. Maybe summerhill.

Do you not think Skryne would have a chance? That looks like a fairly strong Skryne team on paper at least. A good few experienced ex-senior players on it.

The second teams have no chance and can only beat each other

I wouldn't write skryne off, They seem to have been able to keep everyone and have been improving all year. Only lost 1 game in the groups. But I still expect Dunsany or Bective to win. Think Seneschalstown will beat carnaross with them losing JL Magee (if that is true) but will loss in the next round. I would expect Dunsany to beat summerhill but they will put up a fight but Dunsany look very strong this year and should beat Skyrne after that but will be a tougher test than Summerhill. Could be way off but that would be my prediction :-)

If it was their first team, then serious questions should have been asked, considering that they also won the Senior Championship that year!

JFC
CARNAROS v Seneschalstown
This be a tight one John L out is a bit of a blow but Carnaross old legs have been re-engerized by a few young lads. Seneschalstown have hammered Drumconrath and Kwood and were a little unlucky v Dunshaughlin. Carnaroos had handy one v OMahonys but did well when they bet Athboy and Dunboyne. I have an inkling to Carnaross but I go for Sentown by a point or 2
