However since Walterstown won it in 1978, the only other winners were Gaeil Colmcille in 1992. One second team in the past 38years. Maybe we should be asking whether the current set up is fair on the second teams! I would be surprised if a second team wins it this year either. It is interesting to look back and see all all the teams that have come up to the senior ranks in the past 20-25 years. There has been a real change around in Meath football. Back then, the likes of Dunboyne, Dunshaughlin, Simonstown, Ashbourne were all Junior or intermediate teams. Now all are established senior sides. Replying To NaNa: "The second teams have no chance and can only beat each other" I wouldn't write skryne off, They seem to have been able to keep everyone and have been improving all year. Only lost 1 game in the groups. But I still expect Dunsany or Bective to win. Think Seneschalstown will beat carnaross with them losing JL Magee (if that is true) but will loss in the next round. I would expect Dunsany to beat summerhill but they will put up a fight but Dunsany look very strong this year and should beat Skyrne after that but will be a tougher test than Summerhill. JFC CARNAROS v Seneschalstown This be a tight one John L out is a bit of a blow but Carnaross old legs have been re-engerized by a few young lads. Seneschalstown have hammered Drumconrath and Kwood and were a little unlucky v Dunshaughlin. Carnaroos had handy one v OMahonys but did well when they bet Athboy and Dunboyne.
