thats a ridicoulous statement saying junior teams probably train equally has hard as some senior clubs if not harder. last year for example last year o'mahonys and summerhill both got to 1\4 finals with strong teams but the bulk of their best players were taken by there senior teams and were well bet in the 1\4 finals hardly fair on the other teams in it but it will never change because the senior clubs wont allow it srgt_slaughter (Meath) - Posts: 462 - 18/04/2016 08:08:51 1846575 Link 0 |

No need to read between the lines at all, bigger (senior) clubs have a core of players who actually want to play actually want to train,, smaller ( junior) clubs have to persist with lads who go through the motions and as the game and fitness levels advance we are seeing this gap appear,, and all a lot of yas want to do is keep the standard down,, wot about the lads in these senior clubs that don't make the first team,, do they not deserve to go out and try to win a junior championship after all these clubs have used a minimum of 15 players before anybody plays them so if yas can't beat them suck it up, work harder but most of all stop complaining otherlad (Meath) - Posts: 137 - 24/04/2016 17:31:04 1848736 Link 0 |
Analyst- You are away of the mark. Any of the top couple of senior clubs second team would win the junior championship if left in place. Srgt_Slaughter - there are more junior clubs than senior clubs and all clubs are equal when it comes to a vote. I do have sympathy for the major point you are making and would suggest that perhaps it would make more sense to group all the second teams in same group for the group stages of the competition. I would also suggest that the junior clubs should canvass other clubs when trying to get changes made- like being allowed to group for the senior championship. There are folk posting to this board and reading some of their comments one would be led to believe that the senior is a lower grade competition and complain about how low the standard is (obviously guys who never played in the senior grade). browncows (Meath) - Posts: 2342 - 24/04/2016 17:40:35 1848747 Link 4 |
