Well that was a waste of evening, soaked and team were all over the place at times, ok game should probably been postponed. The discipline in second half was shocking. Honestly thought we would win this , that Wm team is not great shakes, we had better players they had better team , if that makes sense

yeah we really need to start winning things at underage and for me,we had the panel to be serious about leinster.

but this seems to be a problem at underage for us,we don't seem to get the best out of our resourses.

Yeah I think it's crucial for Meath football that we start winning tournaments underage as it gives players confidence and belief that they can win when they reach intercounty level. Yeah this was a very strong panel this year and were training since October so it's going to hurt the whole panel and management that they only had 1 competitive game for 5 months of training.

Another disappointing result for Meath football. Any players look like they could make the step up to the senior team?

Three years ago the Meath Minors lost to Dublin by 3 Points in Parnell Park. Tonight only two of them started against Westmeath. Is it possible that the manager & his selectors didn't have enough knowledge of the talent pool available, or was there another agenda?

Wouldn't be that quick to blame management.....there were two lads from my own club who started on that minor team - neither are playing football at any level this year

Heard a lot of talk on this forum about how strong/good this U21 panel is.

Then I saw the team named and apart from 2/3 players, I thought it looked distinctly average, the forwards in particular. Then they get beaten by Westmeath.

Can we be a bit more honest and realistic lads. What was so strong about that panel?

Yeah totally agree - surprised that Conlon wasn't playing last night - maybe was tired from playing Sunday but why wouldn't Meath look for a deferral?. Ridiculous playing these matches in Feb anyway, Meath's record in this grade has been abysmal for a long while so maybe a blessing that this grade is going.

I think the fact that what you are referring to was three years ago should in itself answer your question. Teams are not selected on what you did a few years ago but on current form. Meath were just about better side but indiscipline on Conlon part ( Can't blame Clarke as he was stuck first) and a horror show from keeper were the problem. Also there was a clear point ftom O Reilly for meath which was waved wide. At this level it is unacceptable to have this level of incompetence from officials

I think the management team were actually more focused on next year's team than this year. The amount of players from Barry's minor team last year that played yesterday was to high in my opinion and he is getting them ready to compete next year.

Barry Callaghan or his selectors will have to answer that one for you

Indiscipline lost game and were our best players on pitch, why was Ronan Jones not starting and Dylan Brady (one of the best forwards in Senior Club football last season)?????????

He has had a stress fracture in his foot since before the new year and only started back trainoing last week. He was a big loss.
