Why does the half back line worry you?

Why does the half back line worry you?

It's an area we've struggled in for a while, teams are running through us quite easily and of course that puts serious pressure on our full back line.

Power and Finn are still very inexperienced and I don't think Harnan has produced the goods in the HB line yet. But obviously I hope all 3 of them go well and that Harnan can solve our problem at 6, that would be great to be honest.

I agree with you,I was just interested in your opinion. Harnan has the attributes to do well there, but he needs to learn about positional play and stuff.Power is a good player and will be very good imo.In fairness both tackled well the last day.Finn is a decent player but can he be more?

Onto the N3, head north and don't stop until you reach Enniskillen.

As far as I remember, the pitch is on the Omagh road out of Enniskillen.

I would agree with you Htaem that teams run through us far too easily. However, I think that is more to do with the defensive system we use (or lack of), rather than the personnel in the HB line. If the half forwards and midfielders don't track back and help out, then it doesn't matter who is playing in the half back line - they will just be swamped.

I think McEntee is a player who tracks back and although he didn't have the best of games going forward against Armagh,he worked hard off the ball.Cillian O'Sullivan has shown this too.We have had half forwards in the past who have not worked hard enough when it came to the ugly side of the game.

Ye Power and Harnan definitely have ability and hopefully they can establish themselves in the team, otherwise we're still left scratching the heads wondering about the HB line come summer. Finn I don't know about but he's young and it's very early days so it's impossible to know at this stage.

I accept that point, defending these days requires most of your team with maybe only 1 or 2 lads left up front so it would be unfair to dump all the blame on the half back line and I certainly don't want to come across as doing that.

It is however a very important line and I think we've been a bit porous there for a while now and it'd be great to see that problem eased this year.

Don't forget about D.Tobin and possibly Menton for the summer.

We could really use Tobin and Menton back in the team, but is Menton even available this year, nobody really seems to know.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'd love to see D. Tobin beside Rooney at midfield, I think he's our best option given the lack of options.

I agree with you.

Interesting to note that James O'Reilly played with NOM last night, must not be part of the squad for Sunday.

Armagh v laois is really putting our win in perspective, Armagh are absolutely atrocious, as I said, read very little into our win over them

In fairness Laois beat them in the end with a struggle although they are now candidates for relegation. The main thing for us is we got the 2 points last week forget about perspectives it's all about the points and there are 2 more on offer tomorrow. Lets take it one game at a time and see how it goes.

I'm sure the weather conditions played a big part in tonight's games and tomorrow will be no different so I'd welcome any sort of win. It almost goes without saying that this division will throw up plenty of surprises here and there so if we can finish the day with two wins from two, I'd be more than happy. At this early stage, getting points on the board is the priority. This should help to build the team's confidence, give us more momentum and with better weather conditions to come, hopefully, then we'll play a decent brand of football too.

Best of luck to the lads today. Hope we're returning home with 2 points.

Interestingly having played Fermanagh 12 times in league football it's 6 wins each and after 3 championship games they've won 2 to our 1.
