Went through or near Ballinabrackey on the way to the ploughing this year, really is one of those frontier places of the county like oldcastle or Ashbourne right on enemy territorry. athboy and ballivor are like that too a bit but the westmeath crowd always kept their head down until this year, the seal is broken now its like samson getting his hair cut! we always gave it the big ego round hear like liverpool fans and thier 80s heyday stuff! hard to say what region i am, probarbly west county, neither extreme south or anyway north just on westmeath border south of athboy. Ballivor lads would affiliate themselves with Mullingar a good bit for social and day to day stuff whereas kildalkey always look to navan, yet their both same clubmen for football. though in truth kildalkey and athboy are prob the biggest derby/rivalry only 4 miles apart dickie10 (UK) - Posts: 693 - 11/11/2015 20:43:21 1806572 Link 0 |
