Sweet Jesus I just saw the final result in that Poetlaoise/Killoe match, didn't realise there was such a margin, I really really do hope it's the case that NOM just don't give a toss about Leinster but I fear that is not the explanation

No Richie, Killoe are an average team, they were the worst team left in the comp, yet NOM lost to them..

I got slated for stating that nom had let the county down, and got the usual blahmaish about killoe been a good even great side. Barring one or two teams killoe are the worst county champions. I was been kind calling them average .
And what's more lomans shamrocks castledaly et of Westmeath would beat killoe hands down.
Some serious questions have to be asked of nom at this stage and indeed all the senior clubs in Meath.

I hold my hand up and apologize for defending Killoe 3 weeks ago they have proven today they are below average and without doubt the worst of the teams left in the competition. Dark times indeed for Meath football. On the evidence of the events of this year from senior, minor, u21 and senior club as well as the North/South Meath 'schism' I don't think it could be any worse. Not a single player on the international rules team either. It would put the Queens annus horribilis of 1992 to shame!

Jimin10 you are spot on. Look i have no axe to grind with nom , i lived and worked in town for a time in early 90s and navan people are lovely people.
I went to longford to watch this game as it was close enough to me and while i only got in for second half nom were very poor even taking weather into consideration which was desperate, but i think the weather actually made the scoreline closer .
If im been honest nom played like a team on the pee since county final. That is the only logical explanation i can come up with, the other is that Meath football is perhaps in the bottom 20 and that doesn't baer thinking about.

On the bright side,Curraha won today and both they and Ratoath will be in provincial finals.senior football in Meath is poor, but Intermediate and Junior are as strong as most counties.

I see both finals down for same time and date, best of luck to both teams, the trip to mullingar suits me so ill go in and cheer the ratoath boys but the best of luck to Curraha who are another club going places very quick.

Maybe one of these clubs could bring a senior title in leinster in the future, with only about 2 or 3 miles between the clubs they would make one serious outfit if they joined up.

What about Kiltale v Bennetsbridge in hurling

Kilkenny champions have won each of the last 4 IHC championships so it'll be tough for Kiltale. Hopefully they pull it off.
It'll be an extra special win if all goes well for Ratoath on Saturday given the trophy is the Seán Eiffe Memorial Cup.

Really? I did not know that.. By the way is McMahon an injury doubt and any word on McGill?

Haven't heard anything about McMahon being injured. McGill was still on crutches at the semi final so can't see him being back. Should be back in the new year though.
It'll be some achievement if we can bring the Seán Eiffe Cup back to Seán Eiffe Park.
Best of luck to Kiltale on Saturday too. Hope to have two Leinster championships in Meath by Saturday evening.

Ratoath Royal not quiet true that Kilkenny IH Champions won the last 4 Leinster titles as Mount Leinster Rangers won it in 2011. Kilkenny teams won the previous two with Kilmessan winning in 2008

Forgot to wish Kiltale, Ratoath and Curragha all the best in their finals it is too long since a Meath club won a provincial championship.
