Unlucky to the lads, they gave it their best and just came up short.Wicklow in general took their opportunities with greater composure.. ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 12/09/2015 17:30:08 1786403 Link 0 |

Relied too much on Regan and a bad 10 minute spell early in second half was our downfall. But had the chances in last ten minutes to pull it out of the fire. seadog54 (Meath) - Posts: 2154 - 12/09/2015 19:36:23 1786440 Link 0 |

Hard luck to the lads. The first 15 minutes of the second half killed us, after that it was all Meath. Had our shooting, especially for goals, been better the story might have been different, but Wicklow deserved their win last night. Poor standard last night, when u watch the game after looks about 4 grades of a difference not 1...Meath to reliant on 1 player and thought starting lads just returning from America was bad decision Header33 (Meath) - Posts: 233 - 13/09/2015 16:51:46 1786656 Link 0 |
Listening to interview on LMFM how in the name of God could they say they taught they where good enough to win ... It's the same in league and christy ring every year big talk no medals ... 4th tier is the standard ... Full stop glenny (Meath) - Posts: 1108 - 13/09/2015 19:45:56 1786726 Link 0 |
My taught on the game if meath had bothered to play as a team they would have bet them alright. They're were too many lads lookin for there own limelight instead of working together and using there heads and playing as a team. Same can be said for senior team too. If you look at top teams they don't care who wins game for them but they'll always be using one another and working for one another. That's what bet meath other night plain and simple JoeJoej (Meath) - Posts: 73 - 14/09/2015 09:28:14 1786842 Link 0 |
Felt the line were at fault for this loss. No real game plan and after starting well no clear decisions made. Meath were losing it all in the middle and all substitutions were to the forward line. Aimless 65 yard efforts where better supply of ball needed to hit the full forward line. Wicklow were there for the taking and it was a missed opportunity. Just on the last few comments. Yes lads played as individuals but one thing I can say is they are a tight nit bunch of lads. Gave everything for the team put our hearts on our sleeves. And as for starting the two lads that came back from America, there's no point going into an all Ireland final starting lads just to keep them happy. We were out there to win and win only. We were not good enough on the day but this team will win next year. Great bunch of lads staying on for next year. Don't criticise. Very big occasion for these lads. When was the last time the under 21 footballers made the final. I can't remember. And to all the **** saying no time for hurling get a grip its a sport that in our county is only getting stronger keep an eye out hurling trophies are coming and quick at that . lordofthecrack (Meath) - Posts: 43 - 14/09/2015 10:59:38 1786945 Link 0 |
From what I understand management and team only put together in July giving 3 weeks to prepare for all Ireland quarter final.Full credit should be given to all involved getting to final and very close on the day. Another 3 minutes of play and the outcome would have been different. smallball100 (Meath) - Posts: 2 - 14/09/2015 11:56:40 1786995 Link 0 |
yeah it was a pity we didnt click on the night, but it is a young team and will be back next year. hopeefully go one better. however there does sseem to be an easy tagline of meath hurling not taking responsibility for thier lack of success and actually winning things. the nonsense that is trotted out about the meath footballers doing no better is simply wrong totally and utterly false. the meath u21s got to the leinster final in 2014 and only beaten by 4 points by the eventual all ireland champions. are people seriously telling me that meath u21 hurlers all ireland appearance is any bigger achievement than that? meath footballers would have beaten two average leinster u21 teams to reach that final, just as meath beat two very average u21 hurling teams to reach sundays final in kerry and mayo. iid actually believe that them two counties are probarbly only ranked about 14th -17th in the country at u21 hurling. dickie10 (UK) - Posts: 698 - 14/09/2015 13:58:06 1787113 Link 0 |
