What a pity he cannot or will not be much more prominent in the current crises for Meath football.. The 3 wise men have what we need----experience,proven talent and ability, all course and distance winners in various ways. I assume time constraints are a problem. It seems we are in a difficult position if clubs decide to continue with more of the same. Perhaps they may attach conditions, if no other candidates, then MOD is brought up to speed by bringing in expertise to assist ,rather than continue to brush the problem under the carpet

Looking at Westmeath playing Fermanagh i think we can see clearly why we need a change of management.

Yeah I'm still sickened by that loss to Westmeath, they are a very average team.

Not too sure what the "Three Wise Men" actually do.As far as I know they only advice,so their influence is very limited.I said a few years ago that we should have went for Boylan to work with MOD to mentor him..

When you see Fermanagh beating Westmeath very easily,it actually really annoys you.

Id go further ziggy and say they not even average. Worst defeat ever Imo, and even if we had beat Tyrone and gone on i still think after that embarrassment his position was untenable.

Could not agree more. Looking at Westmeath this evening the Meath team and management must be wondering how they lost the Leinster semi-final.

After watching westmeath match we all should be worried about how we lost the Leinster semi final. They are a very poor team. See what good management like mc grath with fermanegh can do, all Ireland quarter final.

We should be beating Westmeath easily, and if someone says we don't have the players, you don't know what they are talking about.

Greenwood,
They lost because Nobody was man enough to stand up to WestMeath when the came at us in the second half. A Westmeath man beside me said Meath where awful and should never have allowed Westmeath back in the game. Also every substitution MOD made we got worst and worst.

Yeah we definitely have the better players but Westmeath had the better manager same as Tyrone Roscommon Galway and vast majority of counties.
I cant fathom how cb can recommend a continuation?

I do think the clubs will look at this result and take it under consideration...

Don't forget that we played Westmeath twice already this year and beat them comfortably both times before our physical and mental breakdown in Croke Park. The whole Meath setup, management and players have to look at themselves and ask, do I have the talent, know how and heart for this, because without naming names, some of them clearly don't!

100% Htaem

Which highlights the need for a strong manager, who will be honest with the players and tell them whats what.

Kildare beat Cork by 7 points and we have been better than Kildare over the last few years...

Kildare were in the exact same position as Meath at 50 mins. -10 pts up, difference was ,did you
see how Kildare defended?, elementary stuff but totally ignored by Meath management in game versus Westmeath !!
Kildare defended in numbers when Cork tried to run at them , How did Meath management not
know that Westmeath would run at defense and instruct that all men go back to defend and use the fast guys to break forward??
Its old history now but in light of todays performance by Westmeath , it really cant be ignored when
considering management for next few years. What will happen next season under MOD when something similar happens even in O'Byrne Cup?
I feel it will occur, the knives will come out for management , the camp will be divided, another season going nowhere
another debacle looking for a new manager , and so on ,so forth into the abyss of the next 10 years with no accomplishment !
There are talented players in the squad , but they need guidance , motivation, and direction, and they need
to be hardened up mentally and fully understand the privilege it is to represent your county.
That's my tuppence worth after seeing what I saw today. Very annoying really!
