Micko will be back in again

Agree with Glas, its just plain silly.I would argue the situation is getting worse, and will the clubs vote him in now knowing that his selectors have gone with no announcement of he intends to bring in?
Plus the young team thing annoys me.As someone said, generally players retire earlier and most teams are fairly young anyway.

Andrew Tormey

"Maybe a new manager would come in and half the team would be gone"

Well perhaps some of the players will back MOD because they fear they will lose their places..

Look Keogan was made captain by MOD and Tormey is the nephew (I think) of the Meath county chairman so it's not hard to see why they're both backing the manager. What's very disappointing though is to see two of our better players clutching at such a desperate straw (the 1st half v Westmeath) as both a means to support the manager and to make the infuriating claim that we've made progress when we clearly haven't, it would have been far more refreshing to see a bit of honesty from them players.

If they genuinely think the last 3 years have been a success then we have a real problem on our hands but I suspect their situations have very much influenced their support of the manager. It'd be more interesting to hear from some other squad members but I doubt any of them would criticise MOD either for fear of being dropped should he retain his position.

I am really wondering is the news of Giles departure a surprise to a)O'Dowd and b) the CB Management team who have already endorsed O'Dowd for another term. I think the CB were very naive in giving their backing to O'Dowd if they were just assuming that the same backroom team would be in place in 2016. Giles has a lot of integrity and respect in Meath football from his playing days and most people would view his departure as a negative happening, if the CB were not aware of this news when they gave O'Dowd their support a few weeks ago then I think they have egg all over their face now.

Htaem yep i feel exact same.
Add to that mod wants us to buy a pig in a poke,? Come on have the balls to name your team if you have any that is.
And we thought the circus under banty was bad, honestly this guy has lost any credibility with those that actually go to games. But cause of his connections i can see him getting another 2 years and Meath wont be competitive until another 3 years afterwards as it will take that long to rectify mods incompetence. Unreal.

How disappointing is it seeing two talent enough lads saying we made progress cause we played 35 mins against a average div 3 team,? Who by the way seen our game plan and the wide open spaces at the back, their management made changes in dressing room and the tore us apart.
It is bringing shame on our once proud county, i am actually in shock and disbelief reading these comments.

Lads I completely agree with all the comments. Micko needs to be given the gate. But in all honestly, how many of you have gone to your club delegate and asked them to vote him out. My fear is that the delegates won't want to be seen as going against the county bord. Has anyone on this forum heard what their club intends to vote?? In all fairness all the clubs should of had a Meeting to discuss this with their members over the last week or so but I am unaware of any taking place.

The comments from Keogan and Tormey are infuriating alright, we've been to the games, we know there's no progress being made, in fact we've actually gone back and presumably the club delegates know this as well, it's simply now a case of whether common sense or politics will prevail.

Indeed htaem, it now all falls on the delegates shoulders. Lets hope common sense prevails.

Following the revelations today that Giles is out I reckon that this is a bombshell to all.. This will give clubs something to think about and now I have no doubt that there is be a vote on Monday and I am not sure which way it will go... I say clubs could on a secret ballot which it normal is in these things could go 60/40 against micko if it hands in the air it could be the opposite but either way if the excuitive vote with the 'whip' micko would hang on just about. It be up to him if things were so tight as too weather he stays or goes

Ok a worrying development, went out home this eve on way back from meeting. Was informed by neighbor that bottom line is all that matters at the moment and mods appointment "and what he brought with him" will be rewarded as the cb is in the black with another 2 years , the senior teams fortunes are irrelevant, what mod brings is much more important at the minute, and should he go that would go too. This is disgraceful Imo , the cb seem to be very happy to be held to ransom and what's more seem to be content to play Russian roulette with the county team.

It would be awful if the managers position was like F1 pay drivers. Time for delegates to do the right thing.

I agree. Its upto the delegates to end this madness.
We cannot be held to ransom like this. If mod remains then a dangerous precedent will have been set.

All we can do is hope the club delegates do the right thing.

Haha royaldunne I think I saw one of your "MOD OUT!" posters on the way into Navan! You're certainly canvassing hard for his removal anyway..
