I heard Tyrone got a very dodgy penalty...

Having said that, once again we failed to respond and this championship has not been good enough...

A new management team in the quicker the better.......

Joey Wallace missed a sitter????

I heard taking Bray off was a bad decision.. At the end of the day,Micko is bringing us nowehere and needs to go,shocking last 2 seasons.

Very poor decision to take off both Bray and McMahon especially with the game in the melting pot. Newman missed a decent goal chance in the first half and likewise Joey Wallace missed one with time running out. Disappointing year all-round for Meath. Some awful decisions made on the line by management.

At the end of the day,we lost to Tyrone(who were better) two years ago,we lose again.. I hope Micko doesn't talk about a 5 year plan,we have made no progress in 3 years!
We should be in a Leinster Final tomorrow without question.Just hope we don't mess about and get a proper management team in.

I listened to second half commentary on RTE 1. Thought that Meath were going to swing it if Tyrone hadn't got the penalty. Kevin Reilly had an excellent second half. Did he not start even though he was down to start?

Nobody is saying we should be winning all-Irelands etc. But we have good enough players to beat Westmeath and even Tyrone.Management have been making far too many mistakes. The game was in the melting pot and on comes Joey again? Bray playing well and gets taken off?

Would a southern ref have given that penalty? even a ref from Louth?! That aside we have no leaders on the field to win any match even ones in the melting pot. We need a more astute captain for next year along with a management setup that inspires confidence.

yeah agree ziggy but maybe we just dont have the quality in our players bray prob taken off cause he not a young lad anymore maybe he had not got the legs for last few mins but the quality of our subs just not good enough in my opinion joey should not be in the panel far to small and light and against ulster teams they crowd you out and small fast players dont work against ulster teams when they have 13 men behind the ball

Unreal. Yes it wasn't a penalty 10 / 15 steps. But the line blew it big time, bray who ive been a critical of was having his best day in years , him and graham Reilly were working off each other fantastic, and lets not forget the sitter we missed at end by a player who should not be on panel for another 2 years, McMahon should also have remained, i want to wish management team on a personal level well and thank them for their efforts, it was not their fault , truth be known it was cb for appointing them in first place, what we need now is a real management team put in place and pretty quickly, they need to go to club games so to see the talent in county and set up preliminary training in October. I hope mod does the only thing he can to help Meath football and resign as a long drawn out process will not help anyone.

A lot of over the the top stuff lads. There were a few very fine margins there today. Defence was very good. Good system, Good discipline shown. Take a very very soft penalty and a few frees out and Tyrone only scored 6 points from play, at home. Although there was a lapse for the point Peter harte got which we weren't switched on for.

Losing eamon Wallace so early didn't help but though lenihan done very well. We had missed three frees, kicked another two sides, dropped another into the keepers hands and hand a goal chance well saved, ALL before we got a single score. That's huge in a game that finished with 11 scores each.

Lads calling for management to go despite a decent performance in a game where the elements and ref played very much into tyrones hands.

Give mod 2 more years and then see where we are. He's building a very young squad and there was plenty to take from today's game.

Lads at the end of the day we just dont have the players. As for Mod sayin we have a young team and building for the future look at westmeath they are probably a younger team and look where they are tomorrow and alll we have is club championship. I dont buy that excuse anymore. In 96 we won the AI with 7 u21 on the panel and only 2 over 6foot tall. No more excuses please!

Taking off Bray and bringing on Wallace, its exactly what we have come to expect from current management, should be no surprise to anyone. We need to somehow strengthen panel usual subs make very little impact game in game out. Reilly the exception Same is happening in games all over country players allowed to over carry by 3-5 steps. Tyrone line made the incisive calls in second half and some good individual performances got them over the line.

Think it will be a long haul from here. As has been said talent pool at all levels in the county is quite low for some time now. Management team going will not cure that problem on its own. Agreed 3 years has seen no improvement. MOD will know that himself. Anyway, we cannot continue with more of the same and expect a different outcome. Will be interesting to hear how the 3 top men in Meath football [Boylan,McEntee and O Rourke] respond to the situation we find ourselves in now. On a positive note if those 3 REALLY take on the task and manage to WIN co operation from all concerned we will see improvement even if it takes quite a while. This poster says .... NO MORE OF THE SAME PLEASE !!
