its worrying that heavy rain is expected for tomorrows game

Please don't blame the rain, all our lads are well used to playing in wet conditions so it's no excuse, I'm not one bit worried about the rain......well except for my squeaky windshield wipers, that'll be irritating!

not really a cop out at all, its general knowledge that attacking football doesn't work as well in the rain, it favours the short hand passing game. the pacy forwards we have would way prefer a dry day, so therefore tyrone will be happier about the weather than meath will.

If we play attacking football then we'll be beaten regardless of the weather, if the players play with guts and determination and management shows they've learned some very tough lessons then we have a chance, a slim chance but a chance none the less.

NO WEATHER EXCUSES!

Pim,Southmeathgael,
Why is that harsh? He has not got the experience. Thats my main point.
But defensively PAULS are clocking up massive scores against. Mick O DOWD won a senior championship with Skryne and he had far from the strongest squad in Meath at the time. Sometimes structures/gameplans win games. Look at BALLINABRACKEY.
Also rans junior to high flying intermediate. There lies a manager who may bring us forward if defense is our achilles heal.

Well I hope so,but our reaction to a champ defeat in each of the last 4 or 5 seasons has been followed by a tame exit..

Thecraw if its close and we win by a point or two , fantastic,
However if we beat by a point it might as well be 15. , the scoreline makes no difference its the result.
Surely as Meath men cant be looking for moral victory. Mod has lived off supposed moral victories including against tomorrow opposition. No more. Either win or him and selectors go IMMEDIATELY. less of the bs excuses for his own shortcomings.

yes i agree but people seem to think we will get a hammering i for 1 think it will be a close game till the end meath by 2 we are just as good as tyrone in my opinion so just because the last day was a disaster i was gutted dont get me wrong i think we will bounce back tomorrow and i may even have a small bet at 5to2 up the royal

Don't think that team will start, Newman will be in for frees if nothing else, this is a game that every point will count. If fit Reilly must start at full back, if not game could be over after 20 mins, Tyrone will play Cavanagh f/f for early part of game. Will not be surprised to see SOR Burke and maybe take a chance on Gillespie, if he is fit no point waiting till last 20 minutes to bring him on. Start best 15. MODs comments does not inspire confidence. But if we keep it tight we can certainly sneak a win. Management must be spot on throughout and make changes as need arises, be it positional or bringing on of subs. No coming away with what might have been.

Thecraw , absolutely i agree with you we are as good as Tyrone, actually id go further and say we slightly better than them. I want to see a reaction, show the west game was just one of those things that happen in sport, a fluke, a combination of complacency taking win for granted and making errors that will not happen again this year.

Ok ill be heading off soon enough, safe journey to you all, like every other Meath fan i was hurt by our defeat to Westmeath, maybe i took it more personally cause i live in the place and ill be honest i got very angry with both players, and management in particular over our defeat, that been said today as i pull on my xl Mr tayto and fill up the car with petrol and getting the odd sneering comments from people in the local garage, i feel confident that these players are capable of alot better, i wish players management the very best for today, lets win this and restore some pride in the jersey. Today is redemption day. We can do this , i said before and ill say again, i don't care if we play bad and win, i think all Meath fans deserve a victory, lets go to omagh kick Tyrone out of championship and get some redemption. Not only can we win, we are going to bloody win. !!!
HON THE ROYAL

Yes This is THE day. The day when the traditional Meath battling and NEVER say die qualities emerge after years in the shade. When against ALL the odds and EXPERTS we come out on top in another battle of OMAGH [this time in football terms] The day when Meath players decide enough is enough, and they decide to stand up and be counted. The day when we supporters stand up and applaud them for their persistent efforts on our behalf in spite of everything.

Remember RTE used to stream games live online if they weren't been shown on tv what happened that? it would be handy if they were still doing it today.
