I don't expect harnon to be moved but you can't deny he had his best game for meath against Westmeath largely due to the fact that he was given the freedom of croke park , in a tight game against Tyrone he will be redundant, we need forwards in the forwards who can live off scraps because that's all they will get.
MICKEY NEWMAN has to start as well , if we had another option Id drop tormey too.
Menton done well on Sean kavanagh the last time , I'd expect mod to sacrifice menton to follow Sean around.
For what it's worth im going to the game and I think this the best chance we have to beat Tyrone , patience will be key we kicked terrible balls away against Westmeath every possession is vital against Tyrone we need bray and Wallace to be winning frees and tell the likes of tormey and menton to stop shooting on site

Thanks for the tips lads.

Travelling from Navan so heading to Slane then N2 is probably the easiest route for me.

Again another good article in the Meath Chronicle from Anthony Moyles.

He suggests that we have the players to be very dangerous, but need to be tactically better and move on from the traditional way.
He explains a number of plans how to beat Tyrone.
He also explains how Tyrone will swallow us up if we play like Harte expects us to play.

Read it if you can, very good.

What also concerns me about O'Dowd,is the fact that he is stressing that we need focus on what we did well against Westmeath. He refers to our attacking play, now the problem is with that is...

1.Tyrone will expect us to kick ball into our forwards,so we won't have that space.Tyrone will have at least 10 players back when we attack, and McMahon and co will not get that space.SURELY O'Dowd understands that the type of attacking play we played aginst Wicklow and Westmeath will not work against Tyrone?? Otherwise we will kick ball in,Tyrone will turn it over easily or we will kick it away and they have will have time and space to attack.Onne of the suggestions Moyles had,was that we get 12 players into our own 45 metre line, wait for Tyrone to make the mistakes and attack them on the break.Lets be honest we have the players to play this type of game.Reilly,Tormey,Menton,Wallace,McEntee can all break.

As I said in my post Monday Moyles is very sought after and extremely well respected in a lot of counties.A very good friend of Darren fay told me a few years back a story about moyles. When meath beat tyrone in all Ireland quarter final and then lost to cork in the semi final which moyles missed through injury.Fay said even all the great all Ireland teams he played on winning or losing that moyles was the most influential player along with McDermott he has ever played with.He said his presence ,brains, leadership, and will to win were so addicting to other players that he made average players so much better and feel they could achieve anything. He also said their was no bullshit with him even though he lives a very nice life.
Moyles is a very live fancy to be new manager or at least be involved for definite next year with whover is their
roll on Saturday
biggy to give big performance along with keoghan and everyone else to follow their example

royalcountyman -not disagreeing with you but I think he has not done too well at halfback and too many positional switches do not work with an inexperienced team.

tampa-if he is/was I did not see much of those qualities on the field of play!

Moyles may not have had natural ability, but that does not mean, that he knows an awful lot of tactics and about the game itself.

Geraghty and moyles ideal combination and will bring the best out of this group of players.
That been said i fear what the committee and cb will do, lets not forget they turned down geraghty and Evans for mod.

I think passing up on Evans may have been a good thing in hindsight. Jesus his interviews the past two years have been off the wall and I don't rate roscommon at all despite their minor and u21 success so he still has an awful lot to prove before I'd be considering him a loss.

An awful lot of players respect Geraghty and would go through a brick wall for him...

Bert of the two geraghty would be the better option and furthermore has proven this, and as ziggy said i have seen lads that would go through a brick wall for him. He is Imo the one man that can turn Meath football around, to leave him out again would be a huge mistake just because personally you mightn't like him.
