I feel co. Board have to take alot of blame for where meath football is their should be a clear out and some new blood brought in with new ideas lets go around the country and see what other counties are does and start from scratch , lets not for get meath were taken apart by monaghan twice under mod he learned notting from the first defeat and that showed went they beat us out the gate the 2nd time , then the dubs destroyed us, as they will most teams but we learned notting from those defeats , I think thats whats so hard to take if we could see lessons being learned and inprovements being made I know I would take that, but notting has changed other than the names on the team sheet , which brings me to the point that no one on here would be surprised and most are calling for changes to every line on the team 3years in and no settled line no player 100% sure what position he will play the next day , team not fit enough thats clear tyrone have dropped deeper defensively and we have not be able to deal with the blanket defence todate , as a meath supporter I will always want the team to do well and win and I will support them no mather what , I still believe we have some very good players and with some direction we can and should be well able to beat tyrone so come on mod get the finger out

Matt

I have to agree,I really have tried hard to fllow what management are doing, but this year they keep making the same mistakes, and every year there are bizarre positional changes. This year Keoghan at 6,Tobin corner back is it unbelievable..

spoofer- You should not take my 'tongue and cheek' comment too serious!. On a serious note the journey from Navan is down as 2 hours on google (but it would take less time). For you (anyone wanting to avoid that route, the best route is to go via Enniskillen which is just an extra 10minutes according to google. Royaldunne's best route may be thru Breffni-Cavan town, Belturbet Enniskillen and on to Omagh enjoy the countryside. The best of luck and safe travel to all driving.

Best route not be up the n2 through monaghan, aughnacloy and on.

Even for rd, I'd imagine mullingar to ardee and straight up the n2 would make the most logic would it not?

My team for Saturday
1. C McHugh (Good kickouts)
2. J McEntee (dogged corner back)
3. K Reilly (solid full back)
4. D Keoghan (one of the best corner backs in country)
5. M Burke (likes to run forward but must track back)
6. C McGill (worth a try)
7. B Menton (his best postion)
8. A Flanagan 9. H Rooney (Both young lads who have proved themselves on different occasions- Gillespie to come in if fit)
10. G Reilly (when he's on form he can't be stopped)
11. P Harnan (runs well at teams can cause havoc)
12. A. Tormey (his best position, had been playing well there all year)
13. E. Wallace (earned his place v Westmeath- sometimes kicks in hope though!)
14. S. Bray (experience and great for taking scores)
15. B McMahon (our best forward the last day)

Subs to be used- D Dalton, D Tobin, S Tobin, M Newman, S O Rourke

Need to change things up in defence if we are to progress.

Jinxie- that would be best route for you but from Navan the alternative route is Cavan Ennsikillen, Irvinstown, Omagh and it is only 10mins longer and may avoid any potential marches (you could take that route as well). From Mullingar the best route is Granard, Cavan, Enniskillen and on to Omagh-there is a shorter route on Google but going along smaller roads.

I do not have a lot of hope this Sat lads, Meath just cant seem to be able to beat the Northern teams especially in the championship. Only hope is we have managed a couple of good performances most notably beating Down in Newry in the league. Don't think this team has the guts or the know how to win these matches though - hope I am wrong.

If you are coming from Westmeath best route would be the N55 which goes through Longford and brings you to Cavan. Then take the N3 which brings you to Enniskillen. Then head towards Omagh.

Does anyone have any reservations about travelling up to Omagh for this game taking into account the weekend that it is??

I'm still unsure about going up! I know it's not the middle east but would hate for something to happen. Southern reg cars been targeted etc.. Or am I been a windy so and so!!

Hard to credit we are going in to this game with not one settled line in the team. Don't think McHugh is an option at centre back, but if Cavanagh plays f/f he could be in for a roasting. If Reilly is fit and plays full back think McHugh will start on the bench. Hard to be any way optimistic for this one. Tyrone: they are no world beaters at present but are in a better place both fitness and confidence wise.

Supereoyals. Look i think if we are all been honest we all have slight reservations, but i was talking to someone i met through my work (he would be a big uup supporter) and he assures me there will be no problem as the loyalist /unionists just want there day and really don't even bother about the southern regs etc, theyd be more inclined to slag off there nationalist counterparts than worry about the southerners. Just park in designated areas, not side of road etc and you will be grand, as for match itself? Hard to know , i really just want us to win.

Our record against northern teams in championship is terrible. really dont think we can get a result. MOD has to go if we are beat, after 3 years we still dont know how the team will line out, and I dont think he does either. At least in boylans time you could practicly name the team for the whole championship. But there again we just dont have the same calibar of players now.

Allow some time to get through Enniskillen lads, Roadworks going on out the Cornagrade road which slows the town up a bit and id imagine it will be busy on Saturday!
