No concerns about going north on the 11th. Christ I've been waiting all winter for meath games. Nothing will stop me going.

regarding fitness we have been seriously lacking for a long time now. in 2010 in all games bar 3 (offaly, replay vs laois & dubs ) we faded seriosly in the 2nd half. are our footballers willing to burst a gut ? i for 1 am not convinced, but i think it comes from underage structures. if you watch other counties underage teams at blitz's etc they are much tougher than ours. martin mchugh was right about 1 thing we have become soft, whether its because of celtic tiger or not i dont know. we are good enough on our day to put it up to tyrone or most other teams for that matter, problem is OUR DAYS are few & far between. i'll be in omagh on saturday believing we can beat the red hands, hopefully that will happen but as other posters have stated we have bigger problems that need to be addressed sooner rather than later.

I heard that there's a parade in Aughnacloy (on the N2) at around 6. That could cause disruption for travelling back

Can I be a dissenting voice here but Tampa's team looks a bit unbalanced, we're talking about square pegs and round holes for years and you've put McGill in the corner.. He's at 3 or nowhere. Having rewatched the Westmeath game and he was too loose on Heslin and was nowhere for the first goal (I'll grant him it was his first championship start) but he needs to be better and more dominant of the area in front of his goalkeeper. Menton to midfield.. He's at wing half back or forward. We've 3 midfielders in Flanagan rooney and Gillespie (although Micko seems to think Kevin and Sean Tobin are midfielders too!!!) pick two and the other guy is the first sub into midfield. Harnan at 7 despite playing all year at 11 and tobin at 6, sure lets move them to new positions again, Donnacha has played CB, FB and WB this year so hows he supposed to know where he should be playing
This comes back to my constant criticism of MOD, 3 years in an no idea of his best team and their positions?? How's anyone supposed to build a relationship when they never know where their supposed to be playing? And who the man to his right or left will be. The defence will be chopped and changed again and we've no idea of how its supposed to line out. Could he settle on 6 defenders and let them build as a unit??
Shane at FF, c'mon now lets be honest Brayer has been magnificent in there for the last couple of years, one of the few bright spots, please god leave well enough alone. Bray is out front and giving ball off to his CF and WHF's coming through so why would you stop doing that.

I think we will have a problem in the physicality that the red hands will bring. When teams stand off us and give us space to run we look great but when teams tighten up and start running at us we have a major problem. Mobility around the middle third is also a major problem. I dont think our half foward line and midfield work hard enough in defensive situations. Even keoghan has trouble tracking back and he is our most natural defender. I am seriously worried about saturday, I dont think we will get beat out the gate because tyrone dont put up big scores but I dont think we will win and tyrone will be comfortable enough winners. we will huff and puff without really testing them and that would be the worst sort of defeat.

Just on full back debate.

My view would be that we need to put Reilly in there for this game.

Otherwise, we have a goalkeeper making his debut, an inexperienced full back and a make shift centre back in front of goal. To me that would be suicidal.

I'd also put keoghan in the corner to do a man marking job on mccurry.

Menton plays midfield for his club and the idea of playing Menton in midfield is not a bad one.He WILL track back and become on extra half back when we don't have the ball.He offers mobility in the middle of the park too.

If Fit Reilly should be full back for sure.

Brian - You are correct Tobin has been moved about, but is the solution to leave him the full back line???

Kevin Reilly has been a great servant to Meath football albeit he has had a lot of time out with injuries and has not played regularly enough over the years to be considered one of the greats in my book, never the less a fine fine player in his prime,
i think judging on recent appearances he should not be considered for Tyrone game, not mobile enough or fit enough right now

I'd agree 100%. I'm gonna travel myself, but not bringing kids or nephews. Sky could have shown these rather that crap repeats of tennis and cricket. Or rte show it.

Living up north, there is no parades in Omagh on Saturday nor any in Aughnacloy either as stated above. I will be travelling up from meath on Saturday, there will be no issues. Omagh is a predominantly catholic town. There will be no need for meath supporters to end up in a unionist area on Saturday, and if you find yourself in an area heavily draped in brit flags it's probably a good indication you're in the wrong part of town.

i would name a team as follows although i dont expect anything like this team to be named. Harnon wont get any space as a floating centre half forward so id put him back in the half back line, also i dont expect gillespie to start so i think it will be a combination of menton k reilley rooney and flanagan at mid field. also id say mickey burke could be named at centre back if micko chooses to moved keoghan back to corner.
I would love to see this team but dont expect it
1 Mc Cugh
2 Keoghan
3 Reilley
4 MC Gill
5 Mc entee
6 Harnon
7 tobin
8 menton
9 gillespie/rooney
10 G Reilley
11 Newman
12 E wallace
13 Mc Mahon
14 O'Rourke
15 Bray
