Surely with the U21 all-ireland final on the 12th they'll change the date of the quarter finals?

if it was football, there wouldn't even be a question, the fixtures would just be changed.

but it's hurling. Imagine asking a 20 year old to play in an All Ireland Final on the Saturday and then travel home for a quarter final the next afternoon.

Their 2 biggest games of the year within 24 hours of each other.

the clubs should meet and discuss not playing the games

You could only hope that the CCC have respect. The other side is that you could end up playing under lights and that does not suit everyone under lights. It is a great complaint in ways but unfortunate if the players and the game are not respected. No point people posting here as it is to the CCC the notes should be going to now. Hurling clubs don't do enough shouting only one or two of them do and the others gain if they went in on force it might make a difference but knowing Hurling clubs they will leave it to the usual clubs to do the work.

Looking at the revised fixtures on this Hogan Stand page, the CCC have pulled in the IFC semi finals to Sunday the 13the the day after the All Ireland Hurling final. These semi finals will involve Gavin McGowan who plays for Ratoath and also playes for the Meath U21 hurlers and If Trim beat Kilminham on Sunday next it will als involve a few of the Trim lads that are both teams.
is this fair ?

I also noticed that the winners of the quarter final between Trim and Blackhall play Kiltale in a semi final. With Kiltale topping the group and trim coming second, doesn't that usually mean the two teams cannot meet until the final? This was the case last year or was it an open draw this year ?

Its an absolute disgrace. How can lads be expected to play these games the day after. It has to be called of 100% has to be changed no questions asked. And if the county board won't then bring it to leinster

Was the draw suddenly changed? This is the first time I've ever seen the 2nd and 1st placed teams from the same group go into the same side of the knockout stages.

If the format was changed would it not have to be done in february or so?

I feel for Gavin McGowan, a lad who is trying to excel at both codes with no regard from the County Board.
It's no wonder he struggles with injuries.
Why can't Ratoath play on Monday or Tuesday Night. Give the lad a chance to recover.
I'm sure there are other lads in similar situations.

Think you're over reacting lads - Ratoath and Trim need to win for it to even be an issue. If they lose the quarters, the semi finals will go ahead on the 13th, if they win the semis will be pushed back because they have lads involved in the u21 hurling

I have to agree with Lordofthecrack about the BHG vs Dunderry match report. It must have been written in Caffreys late on Sunday night. Blackhall very lucky to make it through and a repeat of that performance against Trim would end up in a hammering. By the way I think Hogan Stand have it wrong - winners will play Kildalkey, with Kiltale playing the winners of Dunboyne vs Killyon.
Glad to see both games put back a week to the 19th / 20th, to give the U21s a decent chance on the 12th.

Finally down to Business end of Championship. 5 teams have a chance of winning it out I suppose. (Blackhall have no chance) Trim the only team close to Kiltale in my opinion.

Dunboyne v Killyon - Will be close but who ever wins will be comfortably beaten by Kiltale.

Trim v Blackhall - Trim by 15 pulling up, Trim then play Kildalkey. Will be close but I think Trim as they have had tougher games and younger team.

Sets up great Final Trim V Kiltale. - Kiltale are easily the best team however and can't see Trim upsetting the odds.

That's how I see it going.

My guess

Trim v Blackhall Gaels - Trim might win it but it wont be that easy - Trim

Dunboyne v Kilyon - Kilyon have good players and if they opened up there game a bit more they would be better. They scored some great points against Navan last Sunday and are hard men to get by - Kilyon

Semi finals Kiltale v Trim - Trim, I think Trim are hurting from last year and they got stuck into Kiltale last week and Kiltale did not want to loose but did. Kiltale were not good - they did not like been pushed around or having to work to get balls. The back line was under pressure and the forwards were not getting there own way and were not able to fight back for balls. They don't look as tuned in this year and maybe taking a bit for granted. TRIM win by 2pts

Kildalkey v Kilyon - if Kilyon get this far they will be hard stopped. They mix it well and win a lot of dirty ball and if this match comes off it will be the best game but will Kilyon have enough in the tank Yes - Kilyon

Final - Trim - Kilyon

sportfan them fixtures are wrong.
Dunboyne wil beat kilyon setting up a semi with kiltale. Kiltale were caught cold by a determined trim team. Can't see kiltale letting that happen again, although they played poorly they finished with 1-19 and could've won, although trim fully deserved the victory. Kiltale will overcome dunboyne and be in the final.

Trim will account for blackhall with ease and beat kildalkey in a tight game. Trim seem to have worked a lot on their discipline and focus this year, all 15 men out to hurl, working hard for each other and not getting involved in any off the ball antics which has let them down in previous years.

Kiltale v trim final could be another cracker. Kiltale always seem to perform well on the big pitches, their forwards seem to enjoy the space and they're very hard to tie down. Trim will be determined to make up for last years 16 point defeat and will be out to put things right. Can't see this being as high scoring, but I'll tip trim to win in a battle.

Senior Quarter Finals this weekend.
Trim v Blackhall Gaels: Very hard to see anything other than a big Trim win. Trim are the form team at the moment and will have too much pace and power for a limited Blackhall team. Trim by 14pts. Winner v Kildalkey.
Dunboyne v Killyon: Think this could be a cracker, "stylish" Dunboyne versus "hard as nails" Killyon. Dunboyne have being excellent all year and really fancy themselves. Killyon lost their one big match v Kildalkey by a point but steamrolled every other team. Killyon are physical and have good players in attack while Dunboyne's attack will trouble Killyon's full back line. Killyon by 1pt. Winner v Kiltale.

Trim will play Kildalky should they beat Blackhall

Trim v Blackhall Gaels: Blackhall will be delighted at getting this far - anything else now is a bonus. Trim are the stronger team and will win this but it won't be a double figures defeat like some are saying. With the football over, Blackhall have had a few weeks to focus on hurling and that will close the gap. Trim by 7.

Dunboyne v Killyon: Dunboyne looked very good at times during the group stages but they have fooled us enough of times before and don't think this current team is as good as the one which was reaching finals a few years ago. Killyon are a strong, solid team and I expect them to win. Killyon by 3

Anyone know why the relegation decider is not on this week? Pity to see two hurling clubs like Rathmolyon and Boardsmill in it but I'd imagine they are struggling for numbers nowadays
