meath.herald.1 Its grand to say nobody from north of Navan on the team, so you must feel somebody is hard done by in being left out, yet I cant figure who that may be.??
Few surprises but Micko knows what he is at. Excitement has officially kicked in as of now.

^^^^
Urizen have you heard the team
Can't see it anywhere online

Newman is from north of Navan. as for where players are from, who cares so long as they're the best available players

Jesus very lucky we are not playing a team of higher standard(I think),but serious worries regardless. We know about all the players who are injured and the doubt over Tobin. But were is McGill and Eamonn Wallace??

Problem is,if we get over Wicklow(which we should),we have possibly 6 or 7 players to come back for their first champ game against Westmeath(likely) who will have 2 champ games under their belts.

Just saw the team and my response is purely WTF!!!!
Where's McGill?? started all ob cup and league games and now doesn't start
Judge and McMahon barely got league time but now starting???
Joey over Eamonn Wallace???
Who's taking the frees??

MOD continues to make Meath fans scratch their heads with his choices.

With the players out,Reilly and McGill,I would also be playing Keoghan full back and move Tobin out.Very surprised with such a young team, that Burke is not playing. Not sure why E.Wallace isn't playing as I don't think he is injured..

I'm that shocked I didn't even notice Burke wasn't on the team sheet.. #dumbfounded

I agree with you,but I will let him away with McGill as I heard he was struggling with a knock. The E.Wallace one is really strange though..

Yes, are Eamonn Wallace and Conor McGill also injured? Considering the list of injuries and previous performances they surely should start if fit??

Also, the article here states that Joey Wallace is getting his championship debut. Is that correct? Did he not start several championship games last year?

Joey Wallace came on as a sub..

I would say we are about 7 or 8 players short of our best 15..

Interesting team, we certainly cant say that youth isnt being given its fling, I'm presuming McGill must have a knock as I would have had him as a nailed on starter given his performances, lets not knock O'Dowd on this we could be singing his praises Sunday evening, as I said before its an opportunity for some young players to really stake a claim on this team with a few more mature disciples stalking the sidelines if needed, we shall see.....

Id say some of the injuries are exaggerated. I think mcgill had some sort of hand injury, nothing serious. Disappointed to see such a talented scoring forward in james mcentee stuck in the backs.

True, we could see some changes before throw in too, wouldnt be unusual to see......

Two chances that 15 will line out at throw in.

McGill suffered a hand injury at work, that's why he's not starting - he was nailed on for full back only for that. A weaker looking team than we expected but remember that during the league the team that started was always different to the team named earlier in the week.
This is not the team that will start, you can guarantee that.

Tobin never carrying a knock so don't know where yee got that from. Mcentee playing corner back cause 90% of div 3 and 4 teams drop corner forward out the field...mcentee will be a free man with license too get up and down. Corner forwards are a worry

What is the rule on naming the team and the team that starts. I thought from this year that the team named must start unless a genuine injury occurs?

Yeah McGill is injured, I heard early in the week it was a muscle injury in his leg but im open to correction on that. Regarding the frees, they will probably between Tormey, McMahon and O'Rourke. I also cant understand why joey wallace is in ahead of eamon however i still expect us to win comfortably.

Eamonn must have some sort of a knock, otherwise it is a bizarre decision.
