Summerhill missing Ross Ryan and Iarla Hughes, two lads the backbone of this side along with Ronan Ryan. Should have too much class come championship

Tuppy, I think you'll find Iarla played that semi v Cilles. The seasiders were missing a few of their big players. Also a lot if the guys that took to the field that night were carrying injuries. Not so sure if Summerhill were the team they were 2 years ago.

The Tones are the team to beat come championship -their 3 county minors are outstanding. Simonstown to lose to them in the final-Nash Conlon and Hoey are massive players also. Cills and summerhill will be nowhere to be seen when we are at the Business end of the Championship.

Good man Sidestep ...in my box I've be been put ! Maybe you could help me out here. Out of the starting 15 from the victorious 2013 Summerhill u16 league winning team.....who were missing from the starting 15 v cilles in the 2015 Minor league semi ? So far I have conor frayne and Ross Ryan. Summerhill were without Eoin Crowe for that 16 final (as far as I can recall) but played centrefield in the minor semi. Iarla, jack Quinn, Ronan Ryan, cathal Ryan, cathal Brien, mark o donohoe all played in both. No disrespect to anyone I've missed but I would class these as the best Summerhill have to offer.

Congrats to Wolfe Tomes, very impressive display last night. Colmcilles couldn't live with the pace or more to the point the power of the Tones big men around the middle who dominated. That Cilles side looked a pale comparison of the team who beat Summerhill. Tones now look rightly favourites for the championship and will be very difficult to stop.
On a further point and maybe goes hand in hand with what's wrong with Meath GAA. How come the final was played end of June when the original final was fixed for May? Surely a number of lads who worked hard all year were on holidays and missed the match? This can't be good after training for 6 months for young lads. Then we ask why do they leave to play soccer/rugby?
In my opinion the match should have been on at a weekend, our biggest minor fixture so far this year and surely would have attracted a bigger crowd had it been on when more people could travel. They couldn't even arrange to have linesmen last night. Maybe not enough is going into looking after our young men. Maybe that's why we are now not even top 2/3 in Leinster. Young lads deserve to be treated better for a division 1 league final at the most important juvenile level there is.

A deserved win for Tones alright and especially after the disappointment of losing last years div 2 final and their tame exit from last years championship . It was a poor call to play the match on a Tuesday night and 5 weeks later than originally planned. This left 7 county players between simonstown, cilles and tones having to play a major final 48/ 72 hours after representing their county and there was also the uncertainty that the games would go ahead as the word was that if meath won the minor management would have wanted the finals off again. The margins of victory in both games was surprising and something is up when div 1 consists of an odd number of teams, surely skryne having won div 2 last year at minor and div 1 at U 16 should have been up in div 1 ?
