True RR,but remember they had to play with 14 men in the second half, they showed great character when Dunsany scored the goal to go level..

Mcentee different class to anybody else on the pitch. Shane Brennan did best for dunsany but RR is spot on about lack of two footed forwards.

To play mcentee in defence for county is another example of how stone mad our county set up is. Incredible performance from the little man. Dragged his team over the line

Agreed Perro. We take our best corner back (Keoghan) and put him at centre half back. We take a natural centre half back (Harnan) and put him at centre half forward. And we take a natural half forward (McEntee) and put him at corner back. Its just crazy stuff. If MOD did nothing else next year but pick the best fifteen and put them in their natural positions, it would be an improvement from this year.

Absolutely crazy stuff indeed!

Add to that by playing Tobin corner back

He was asking me few quest and simply wouldn'tbelieve that mmcentee was played in the backs for the county

Well done to Curragh and great for such a small club. Hard luck to Dunsany. anfearbeag - we do not have any natural centre back and the player you have mentioned is nowhere near a CB. Of course McEntee is a forward and not a defender. I would have thought Keoghan could perform there if he had wing backs who could defend (which he did not have). There is a huge gab in standard between playing in a junior final and a senior final which most of the posters appear not to realise. The best of luck to Curragh in Leinster.

Browncows- I don't disagree with you on Keoghan - I think he is a class act and could play anywhere in the backs. Against Wicklow this year he looked all at sea at centre half back - but that was no surprise considering he had Judge and Dalton on either side of him. Another big problem was (and still is) that we have no defensive plan. Every team in Ireland knows how to beat Meath - get the ball in your half back line and tear up through the middle with two or three players. No-one will track back with you, you can coast through midfield, and pass it around the centre-half back. There is not a centre-half back in Ireland now, or ever before, who could manage if there are two or three lads coming at him. The sad thing is that this has been going on for years in Meath, and we still haven't learned. It took Westmeath until half time before the copped on how to beat us. Once they did, we were all at sea.

But I still don't think that Keoghan should be at CHB. He is a really good corner back. By some distance the best corner back we have. So put him there and don't keep messing him about. Find another centre half back. Play two or three centre half backs if we have to. Make the back line solid and the forwards will manage.

You are possible right about Harnan. The old memory isn't what it should be, but I thought he did fairly well when he came on the scene initially as a half back. Did he not play at CHB in the Leinster final a couple of years ago and did ok?

good performance by the Haa and should win Leinster. They have not played near to their potential (nerves probably). I also thing their neighbours will win the intermediate and could go further. Navan O M will be eaten alive.
