Junior A champ always strikes me as unfair with typically rural clubs grouped against some senior clubs reserve sides. MeathGAAHead (Meath) - Posts: 87 - 12/08/2015 14:41:51 1768836 Link 0 |

agreed, Curraha will be delighted to play O'mahonys now, I think skyne might even put it up to them. big game between summerhill and dunsany, dunsany wont want to go through the play-off. I'd expect them to scrap the win de_man (Meath) - Posts: 192 - 14/08/2015 13:54:49 1770166 Link 0 |

Clonard v Simonstown. Simonstown lost both midfielders. They tru pulling up anyway. Clonard in relegation no matter what. They should save themselves and will win here to start their salvation glenny (Meath) - Posts: 1108 - 20/08/2015 12:07:07 1773104 Link 0 |

A drastic overhaul of the Junior A foootball championship is in dire need. The way it is now, reserve senior teams are skewing it. Good junior teams in their own right are failing to make the knockout stages because they are playing against de facto senior teams in the early rounds. Meath Hill, St Brigid's, Drumconrath and Kilmainhamwood are teams that could be challenging for outright honours in their own right only they came up against reserve senior teams in the first couple of rounds. Brigid's had Navan, Summerhill and Skryne in their first three for God's sake. As the rounds progress these senior reserve teams are losing players to their senior sides and a much weaker team makes the quarter-finals as a result. emmet (None) - Posts: 33 - 24/08/2015 20:28:26 1775592 Link 0 |
