Rossies v Meath

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Too much pace power and scoring ability in that Meath starting 15 for Roscommon to cope with the last meeting was a 5 point win for Meath I would expect something similar this weekend.

Roscommon 0-12 Meath 1-14

Ziggy mark osullivan deserves another try, made serious goal chances against Laois if one or two of them had gone in wed be very happy,
If im honest i think minus kev Gillespie and tormey that's our championship 15, there is some pace in that forward line that can rip Roscommon apart, i don't see them scoring goals but i think we will get 2 maybe 3 majors, my prediction
Meath 3-12
Roscommon 0-14 , ill settle for that.
Hon the Royal.

Not sure royaldunee but after the 2nd half performance last week id imagine there will be a few, cant see stoney at corner back anyways and id expect a few more changes in personal.probably wont start one or 2 of the mid week under 21"s that were well beaten.

Two teams going in different directions roscommon heading for divison 1 and meath probably headin to divison 3,Cant see meath been able to deal with roscommons forwards and meath not having any real threats up front i expect roscommon to win comfortably.

Roscommon 2-13
Meath 0-11

Roscommon have much better players now and are in a much better place than the last meeting 3 years ago. I expect a closer game. I actually think Wallace playing is good for Meath as he is so fast, he should have started regardless of tormeys injury. I'm going for a 3 point win. Roscommon 1-15
Meath 2-9

Htaem

I have nothing against the guy, just think he has been poor so far this season, also difficult to know what his role is.

Anyone surprised that Burke has continued at corner back this season? I thought it was clear he could not play there at the highest level, really should be out the field if starting.

Ziggy- yes, beats me why he's in the corner. Half back or sub is what he should be

I really think that the regular posters own here are totally deluded as to where Meath are at the moment, game after game Meath to win by this, Meath to win by that regardless of current form or performances, then ye slate them when they let you down, but still predict a magic turnaround in ability and form as the next game approaches! It then all manifests coming up on the annual leinster championship match with the dubs where past results, form and strength goes out the window to Meath magically having enough to get them over the line before the ball is thrown in and we're well beaten but it's a moral victory because we stayed with them for 20 minutes! I mean come on!!! It's a tad embarrassing at this stage the way a team clearly in transition and struggling are being talked up as world beaters every week for the last 3 years on this forum. Don't get me wrong, I'm a proud royal but give the team a chance without putting a world of expectation on them and it will come eventually.

Two half backs playing in the corners is not working. Think O Sullivan worth another go, seems to be aware of what is going on around him. Roscommon have decent forwards, we will have to run up a decent score to win

It would be great come championship to see Keoghan back at corner back,Reilly full back and McGill in the other corner.

Kevin & Graham Reilly playing exceptionally well, very hard play against this Roscommon team and a very hard to figure out referee, think team selection is right bring the pace of Wallace in second half and don't be surprised to see Gillespie or Shane O'Rourke appear either
