Meath v Westmeath

Both had missed opportunities in first half. Would agree that the replay of biggys would have been great. I pray its shown tonight, it really was one of those special football moments and we haven't had many of them in recent years. It was sublime.

No. League Sunday is a joke. Better chance of seeing it on tg4 tomorrow.

But I've a feeling most of us will have to store it allong side Joe's point in mullingar in the rain in 09.

Bloody disgraceful. So much for tv license fee. Absolute joke. As any of us that were there would know it was a great shot. We will just have to lock it in our memories, but for those that wanted a second look or for plenty who couldn't get there not even a mention its a bloody joke.

Great result yesterday though I don't see any improvement in problem areas of half back line, midfield, and forward unit only firing at 50%.

Couldn't see any clear plan and lads seemed to be running into one another.

Anyway the result is what matters.

I usually sit up at the back of the stand (in my advancing years!) and there was a either a video or camera on a tripod in the "corporate suites", so who knows it mightn't be lost for ever.

A couple of points from Westmeath game.
I thought Steven Bray was the stand out performer. Great target man and superbly fit for his age.
People here are getting a bit carried away comparing McGill to Darren Fay ! Granted he played well against Westmeath but his man spent most of the time drifting around out the field so he had a pretty easy night. Wait until he comes up against Donie Kingston next week and then we will see what he is made of.
Hope Rooney returns to midfield as his partnership with Flanagan was starting to look promising. Also Menton offers more as an attacking number 7 where he has been excellent this year. In fairness to him he had the task of man marking Heslin who didn't do a lot apart from his frees.
Micky Newman still looks a bit off the pace but he will improve as the year goes on.
All in all a good win against a Westmeath team who came to Navan full of confidence.

Fairplay mickcunningham, I don't think we're 11 points better either, you's did squander a lot of chances in the 1st half and to be honest I really thought you's should have kicked the ball in long with the wind, there was a Westmeath man beside me tearing his hair out over that in the 1st half. Anyway best of luck to yourselves, the year is young yet so you never know what could happen.

Mickcunningham. Thanks for that much appreciated.
Absolutely no doubt about it, Westmeath aren't 11 points worse than us. I expect another meeting this year which i feel will be a lot closer.
IM hoping you can bounce back on Sunday, best wishes for rest of campaign.

The Great Glenny is quite happy with his prediction last weekend it was a good call after Westmeath had beaten Kildare... While the goals killed the game I feel we did not hammer Westmeath... I suppose Lurch you where singing your head off in Kinnegad Saturday night but one swallow dont make a summer and when we meet Westmeath in the Leinster Semi in the Summer we all know a 1 point win will be worth more.. Roll on June....

Looking at TG4 now looks like they won't be showing the highlights. Is there any chance Ollie might put it up on youtube?
